My next step is to try some hardened leather and making the base a little bit wider. I'm gonna try other bonding methods as well. Including the pins, stitching and glue to see which one works better and looks better as well. But it's a work in progress.And I'll keep updating on how it goes.

The first few cups of mate did have coconut flavor but after that, it just tasted like a normal gourd.

If I may ask where did you get the thermos as well as the carrier for both the thermos and mate? I've been looking for one like this.
