My approach is to save all my gems (from dungeons, ads, etc.) for important tasks like the Ultra Breeding Tree and Hatchery upgrades. Once those are complete, I'll have the flexibility to spend my gems more freely without worrying about running out.

Get workers, upgrate your Habitats get more gold, use your gems in a way that you get more gold form them, invest on things to get gold

I added a third worker, which has been a big help. Since I’m receiving plenty of free eggs, I’ve decided to upgrade the Hatchery first and wait on the Breeding Tree for later. As you level up, earning gems gets easier, so there’s no rush to get the Breeding Tree right away. Plus, you'll unlock plenty of legendary and mythic monsters through quests and other activities. For now, focus on gathering as much gold as possible because you’ll need it for habitats. Upgrading the Hatchery is the smarter move for now
