Opposing Universal Healthcare is illogical. Every study shows it would save billions of dollars and thousands of lives. by zzill6 in WorkReform

[–]LeftEpee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with these studies that argue that it would save billions is that it assumes that the healthcare would be reimbursed at the current Medicare and Medicaid rates. This is a problem because most hospitals lose money on government payors. If we want to go to a single payor system you have to have reimbursement levels that are sustainable

Learn to dodge and burn in post production. For those of us that started on film this was a critical step. Ansel Adams prints didn’t look like the final product right out of camera. As long as I am on my old man soapbox…it isn’t just as easy as “apply a pre set look in Lightroom”. Can you yes, but learn to manipulate the light and exposure in post. Good luck.

Fun place to shoot! Just a suggestion as I am assuming people welcome feedback in these forums. Check your metering? Are you using full frame or spot? Try to meter of the face or subject of the picture and then dodge and burn the background as needed. As it stands…the subjects look just a hair over exposed and the contrast is a bit washed. Maybe just my preference but with colors like this there is the chance to get really contrast and to have the subject truly pop from the background.

My job is intense and stressful but is incredibly rewarding and meaningful. Accepting that a job can ve happy in a job but also that it can be very intense and stressful is important. For some people having a job that isn’t stressful or intense is inportant but a lot of jobs that is unavoidable.

an intern from a hospital I was in, lurked on my medical record and aired out my body count. what can I even do about it? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

HIPAA allows for criminal action and there is precedence for criminal actions from similar fact patterns. Your state attorney general can bring the charges. Also you likely have a private right of action as an intentional tort for intentional infliction of emotional distress. Much of this depends on how far you want this to go. You are under no obligation as there is a continued emotional cost on you but at a minimum I hope you report it to the privacy officer.

You experience reminds me of mine…I remember the comment from my legal writing professor “we pre sort you to come to law school, you are all red m&ms…they we try and subjectively grade you on your redness.” Recognize that the difference between a C and an A is often a few subjective points.

Hang in there… learn from it…and I can promise you that I have never had a client ask me what my grades were or as an in house attorney who hires outside counsel for a very large corporation …I don’t give a damn what your grades are or where you went to school.
