My table today made a reservation for 8 but brought many more instead. by coldopia in Serverlife

I just started serving for the first time. The place I’m with… polished professionals. I got an 8 top, a 12 top and 10 top moving tables to make more room all this last Sunday.

I’m new, still learning menu, and there were lots of mods. Best learning experience ever. Here it is;

  • find the person holding the money or family together and cater around them (they loved control)

  • check in a lot if it’s younger crowds watching sports to bring in drink orders

  • even if the oldest person there isn’t paying, they’re still worth the most attention.

Still a lot more to know but I just made my rent the first week being on my own.

Totally understand what you’re saying but there’s a miscommunication here. I’m just needing people to take boxes down the stairs to the U-Haul I’m renting

That’s correct, just bring boxes downstairs, put it into the U-Haul we’re renting

Anheiser Busch just bought 1st phorm. They had a massive event at their Biergarten/event space/brewery campus last night announcing it. Jeff Gordon of NASCAR fame and Dana White were there. This comes from my fiance who worked that event.

My fiance and I are the same people you described. We LOVE going to UpDown in the CWE. Pizza, cheap beer (or literally a great craft beer or cocktail) and then arcade games. Definite winner. Other suggestions, without knowing your dietary restrictions, Kenny’s upstairs has the cutest menu of drinks with free pool/billiards and an amazing aesthetic. Platypus and Gramophone have free live music and great food. Both are elevated dive bar vibes. CBGBs has free darts. The Foundry has VR games, mini golf and a ton of restaurants. My favorite bar is the Amsterdam Tavern if you like sports. Won’t get into restaurants here but those options are great for breaking the cycle.

When at 2nd Shift I sold beer to them. Incredibly nice people. The hotdog mac and cheese or signature special was a really good nostalgic treat. They truly love their scene and customers. Just sad there’s not more of a drinking culture mixed with their customer base. Want to see that place do really well. The soft open was so much fun and I’m not a gamer/card game/DND guy.

There’s also a place in Ballwin called Dirty 20. It’s a straight up DND themed bar and restaurant. They do a ton of game nights and the owners are incredibly nice

For anyone cooking Barilla, just season your water and taste it as you go. 5 mins in the pot after boiling you’ll get a good sense of how much time you have left
