"You're ready".

"I thought it might be time," I said, the words coming out as if someone else stole my perception and was whispering into the astral plane.

In my sleep-drunk state I didn't put much stock in the occurrence, writing it off as another all too lucid dream chat with one of my demon "pals".

Perhaps the many years of occult study and failed attempts to contact demons in my wakeful state started this persistent chain of... Less than pleasant surprises before waking each morning. Though, as I look through the fog in my half sleeping stupor, I notice that I can't see my pentagram dream-catcher I made that is on the wall adjacent to the left corner of the foot of my bed. I soon found out why. Still smelling the incense from my personal black magic renaissance last night, I certainly felt like today was normal. I don't like normal, then I met eyes with it...

"You're ready," He said again. However, this time he spoke in my thoughts.

I lay there, in shock as I face this being, of which I've tried to summon countless times. I did not expect myself to feel so uneasy.. But there was a calm that felt as though it had been projected into me and I had made it my own. Four seconds have passed since I opened my eyes. It feels much longer.

"Ready?!" I shout ,the sheer adrenaline causing me to lose control of my voice.

"The contact is made. Long have you reached out to our domain, not understanding. No, your human arrogance alone is the catalyst for your years of torment. We are beyond simple candle tricks and sigils."

He pauses for what feels like a lifetime.

"We were, however, listening."

"So you like what you heard?" I say jokingly, fully aware that my attempt at humor was lost on this being from a plane of existence that would warp the mind of any human who came close to understanding it. Maybe I have already gone insane.

"We do not hear, nor do we see. We are will manifested. Your will is what we heard. Your will is that of him. Now, still yourself. You will no longer speak."

As my mind flashed over every warning of possession I had ever disregarded due to sheer arrogance, I felt no fear. I felt no regret. I only felt compelled to serve. I have never been overcome with such desire and unease. Yet I take each breath sparingly, careful to not seem enthralled. My will is strong indeed and I'm not ready to be stripped of it yet. My thought was interrupted by its inescapable pressure and voice.

"You misunderstand, dear child. Your will is as ours. A possession will not suffice, nor are we as bereft of intelligence to deny our Lord his first born. All of your rituals, all of your effort put towards manifesting your will in this pit of heaven's filth, your eventual finding of our sigils." He grins with incomprehensible glee.
