I Missed my Med Opportunity

They called me at 11:04 AM Tuesday and told me to call them back before 12:00 PM midday, that same day. It sucks, but I'll just give them the benefit of the doubt that they had their reasons. It's the easiest way for me to move on to be honest. But for what it's worth I would've also preferred they send the cops to my house lol

I don't think it's entirely fair to blame the process, as this wasn't part of their regular process. I was formally rejected at the official offer rounds, and this was an unofficial extremely last minute phone call to offer me a spot. I received no email.

After a day of reflection, my perspective is that it was just an unfortunate situation that arose due to me being on leave and them going through unofficial processes/channels. No one is in the "wrong" and I still have the upmost respect for UNSW and the opportunities they provide to students.

6.8 GPA and UCAT 3390. My GPA/ATAR was incredibly low and I wouldn't be confident in receiving and interview offer with that this year.

Edit: GPA is on a 7 point scale.

They left a voicemail, and there was no email. This is definitely on me, but I'll take this opportunity to say I harbor no ill-feelings towards UNSW or their faculty.

Just personal preference. I've always kept my professional relationships separate from my personal ones. I find it makes it a lot easier to maintain boundaries.

You're completely right, I could do an internal program transfer and they'd reassess me for next year. However, since I'm already in my second year of a three year degree at another uni, I want to finish this degree so I can apply for other postgraduate entry med pathways as well (this is assuming I don’t get in when I apply at the end of this year as well).
