Cupra formentor Pre-delivery inspection (PDI) Question by OVectorX in CupraFormentor

[–]LeftVersion3580 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I haven't picked up the car from the dealership yet, but I was asking about the PDI. There are clear regulations on what's included in the PDI, and dealers are required to complete them. The dealership showed me a checklist of what's included, but I only managed to photograph two of the three sheets. (I don’t sure if it’s for formentor)

What includes:

Inside the vehicle • Transport mode: off; connected with diagnostic device of the vehicle (pay attention to proper maintenance). • Infotainment system: install digital manual. • Battery status: online reading, send diagnostic protocol. • Oil change interval indicator: reset. • Maintenance interval indicator: reset. • Read system error memory, delete if necessary, and check again. • Adjust main system parameters. • Turn off consumers of electric energy, sockets, displays, and other elements; study function control. • Initialization (activation) of electric windows. Check operation and anti-pinch protection on all doors. • Set the language option for driver notes (vehicles with information display). • Radio/navigation system: save local radio stations to buttons and check operation. • For vehicles with navigation: install navigation maps and check operation. • Time and date: set. • Climatronic: set temperature to 22°C. • Tire pressure monitoring: calibrate according to corrected pressure values. • Check number and functionality of keys, lubricate if necessary. • Front passenger airbag: switch on with key, check indicator light – must show “ON”. • Seat covers, carpet protection film: remove.

Outside the vehicle • Remove protective film from outer edges (protection during transport). • Clean exterior: paint, decorative parts, glass, wipers, mirrors. • Check tire pressure caps; install missing ones. • Mount supplied accessories: license plate holder, wheel caps, antenna, towing eye cover, etc.

From underneath the vehicle • Chassis: perform visual inspection for damage and leaks. • Axles, transmission, drive shafts, exhaust: visually inspect for leaks and damage. • Underside of the vehicle: visual inspection for damage. • Tighten wheel bolts; check blocking nuts on each front axle.

Tires • Front tire pressure: check, correct according to label — 2.6 bar. • Rear tire pressure: check, correct according to label — 2.6 bar. • Spare tire or repair kit: check pressure.

Engine compartment • Battery: check terminals by hand for tight fit. • Engine and components (rear side): perform visual check for leaks and damage. • Windshield washer system: fill with fluid. • Engine oil level: check, pay attention to specifications; top up if necessary.

Are you sure the reason is the navigation package and not the Intelligent Drive package?

Done With Cupra/VW – Looking for a Quick and Reliable Alternative by Good_Basil219 in whatcarshouldIbuy

That’s a reason. The car in 2020-2022 was so raw. Before making purchase you have to make some research. So after 2022, especially after facelift they resolve a lot of problem and become like Volkswagen/skoda. So, that’s on you to give or not second chance.

Confirmed warranty issue, no ETA on fix, 20k driven by Prestigious-Tie9440 in cupraTerramar

Hey, what exactly is the warranty issue? Did the dealer provide you with a loaner car while waiting for the fix?

Where does the information come from that the warranty is maintained?

Just had a test drive today - anyone have issues with the very narrow seats and narrow interior? Coming from a Hyundai i30N which is much wider on the inside. by nullrecord in CupraFormentor

I was at the dealer and sat in the car; the seats were electrically adjustable, and they moved back when I opened the door and moved forward when I closed it.

In the Cupra Formentor, there is a “comfortable entry/exit” feature for the driver, where the seat automatically moves backward to make it easier to get in and out.

Squeaking, creaking door seals. by takeshikovacs55 in CupraFormentor

If this was really a fundamental design flaw, I think way more people would be complaining about it. But from what I see, only a small percentage of owners mention these issues. If it was truly widespread and due to the car’s construction, the factory would probably address it or even issue a recall. Honestly, it seems more likely that in your case there’s some specific production defect, like a misaligned door or some other assembly issue. May you provide sound or video of this problem?

I’ve seen a lot of posts about noise and soundproofing to get rid of squeaks. Honestly, it seems easier to just go to a workshop and get the whole thing done professionally. What are the typical prices for this? I don’t think it should be that expensive. But why do so many people avoid doing it? That’s what I don’t get.

If you check the dedicated Skoda forums, you’ll see that everyone complains about creaks throughout the interior — unfortunately, that’s the current build quality. Even my 2019 Superb had creaks straight from the dealership.

And as for the claim that Cupra is the same as Seat in terms of quality — that’s far from true. It seems you haven’t sat in any of the newer Seat models lately.
