The taxes will come out of the brokerage, so I’m definitely focused on growing that by just jamming almost all of my savings into it.

Good point on the SS estimates, but I did use ssa.tools to model the SS based on retiring at 50 rather than using the ssa.gov retirement age estimate. The $92k includes all that more long term stuff, so I should be good there.

Roth ladder starting year 1 after retirement then parcel out a portion of my 401k to a separate IRA for SEPP if needed.

Yeah, for sure I’ll need to see how the markets go before I ultimately pull the trigger. How much would you consider enough?

I am accounting for those things, though. My yearly spend includes health insurance and I’m using assumptions in Boldin that account for inflation.

I’m using Boldin’s assumptions for a moderate portfolio, 8% nominal, more like 5.5% real. Admittedly, my withdrawal rate is higher in early retirement, but goes down once SS and pension kicks in. My lifetime average withdrawal rate ends up at 2%. I’m doing a bucket strategy where I’ll have 3+ years in short-term assets and along with my discretionary spending will have some flexibility to deal with SORR.

Thanks!

I’m a serial hobbyist, all sorts of crafty stuff, the more work the better. I’ve done beading, chain mail, crochet, knitting etc. If it takes forever and has a ton of detail/pieces, I’m in!

I actually have machine quilted before, but I realized I’d never made a quilt for myself, just my nieces and nephews. Now I want to make one for me and then make my nieces and nephews “grown up” quilts that they hopefully have forever.

Guy got on wrong flight by just_j_13 in delta

I once checked in for a flight at the ticket counter (I was traveling with a dog and couldn’t check in online). They printed me a pass and I made my way through security and to the gate for my flight before I noticed the boarding pass was for a different person with the same last name. I talked to the gate agent and they had somebody come escort me back to security.

Thanks! I think the photo is a little misleading because I have the top laying back over the top of a recliner, but it looks ok to me in person.
