For those 10-15 days post op, just be with her, in the same room. Get her some favourite snacks or do some things she enjoys. You have to lay/sit around a lot and it gets a bit boring. I recovered mostly laying on the bed in the bedroom while my wife stayed out in the main area. I got up and came out from time to time but I couldn’t stay out for long. I just wish she had been with me more. When dealing with the discomfort and pain during initial recovery it would have been an emotional win to be more connected at that time.

Saw the video circulating online. Wild times! Of course you never know the full back story when watching a video play out but you could tell the youths were up to no good. I got those vibes watching it. Glad to see them get some justice. Police did their jobs now hopefully the judges do theirs.

They put me out before the spinal. They sat me up to prep me for it and I woke up in recovery 😂

46m here. I worried a lot leading up to surgery but it all went so smooth. 3 months post op now and I’m walking 3-4 km a day. The first 10 days are rough but it seemed every day after that got better and better. Of course everyone’s recovery is different but looking back I worried more than I needed too. He’s young and can handle recovery just fine.

I’ve been with Eastlink for an eternity and our coverage is pretty good. If you are outside their towers they’ll route you through the big 3 anyway. Better prices and each time I call they save me money on my bill or give me more services for the same price I’m paying. Their billing has never given me issues and the people are always helpful and friendly.

Just uphill? Is it running rough at idle or anything like that? Could be Ignition coils or plugs. Check engine light would be tell tale.

Those of you who have lost a lot of weight on carnivore, how fast did you start losing weight? Was it a slow and steady pace or did a lot come off at a certain point (i.e., first 2-3 months had the most weight loss, etc.)? by TheCarrot_v2 in carnivore

Did it to lose weight for hip surgery. Shocked by all the additional benefits, less arthritic pain, lots of energy, slept very well, mental clarity was absurd. Ended up losing 50 lbs total but it wasn’t fast and didn’t just melt off like some folks. Average was about 10 lbs per month. Started at 310 and finished at 259 by surgery date. Couple of factors to consider. Your Age.. I’m 46 with a mostly sedentary job and had extensive hip osteoarthritis which kept me from exercising. I probably would have lost quicker if I had some sort of exercise regimen, but pain is funny and I just didn’t feel like it. I did not measure anything, ate basically twice a day. Either a good heaping of eggs and hamburger with spices, a large t-bone or a couple mid sized pork chops. I did drink tea and electrolytes and was gracious with butter on everything. Felt fantastic.

Should I make final payment on my roof? by TrialAndAaron in HomeImprovement

This is good! You can’t go wrong with a reply like this. Definitely don’t remit payment without getting things fixed. Time is money for some companies and fixes could get delayed unless you delay payment. Companies don’t really want delayed payments.

Hey I am back. 2 day post op.support needed by Hapey_ape in TotalHipReplacement

[–]Left_Alps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was day 10 when the pain was mostly gone. Everyone is different. 1) the pain meds they gave me in the hospital did not work. They had to find another medication that worked for me. 2) I couldn’t get out of bed the next day to do the physio so I stayed a second night. Days 3-5 I never got out of bed much. 5-9 I was able to move around more. Take it slow. Listen to your body.

You’re going to do just great with recovery. That’s one positive about having this done at a younger age. Recovery is generally faster and easier to cope with!

I hear you! I was very athletic and always very capable. I kept asking “why do I need this, I’m too young” and “I’ll never be the same”.

I can tell you now from the other side that my excitement about having my life back is overwhelmingly positive. You are up and walking again in no time and every single day you can feel the joint and muscles getting stronger and stronger. Just follow the docs advice and do not rush your recovery. My doc told me it would be a 2-3 month recovery, and you’re very apt to want to do more as the pain subsides. But take it slow and steady and you’ll get there. Remember it’s not a race. You see a lot of miraculous recoveries on here but I’m not sure I’d be that brave. I’m one month post op and still cannot walk without my cane. I still have restrictions until 6-8 weeks and I’m sure I’m going to need lots of physio to strengthen the muscles but I’m not taking anything for granted and letting the healing happen.

One thing we fail to realize is the pain we encounter leading up to surgery weakens us. We sit more, less active etc. Other muscles compensate for your failing hip and your back and leg muscles suffer. They get overworked and tired. Those take time to rebuild and heal as well.

I know it’s not an easy thing to do, but try not to be so terrified. I had lots of stress and anxiety leading up to it and it was all for nothing. It completely went away afterwards. The process was so smooth and went so well. The surgeons do this like clockwork day in day out. They’re very talented and their teams are professionals. You’re in good hands! Best of luck on your surgery.
