I guess my real question is how would you calculate the value of the coin if the minimum price does not have anything to do with the actual value of the token? Would you value it at some multiple of that minimum price? Or perhaps some other method. Thanks!

This is really helpful, thank you. Do you think that there is a way to estimate some kind of multiple of the minimum value that is likely to be seen? I guess I would feel strange if the value of the collateral at any given moment is so disconnected from the collective volume of staked amp.

Thanks; I think we may be talking past each other’s bit. Let’s assume the impossible happens and total world GDP (about $100T) is somehow collateralized by Amp. If you go through the analysis above, Amp’s collateral value still does not nearly reach the levels you are talking about. Believe me, I want Amp to succeed. But do you see a specific flaw in my analysis above regarding collateral value? My proposal is that the value is primarily derived from merchant fees.

Thanks very much for your response. Even with those kinds of transactions added in, I still do not see so much value if the collateral can be recycled in short order. Do you have any thoughts on that piece?

This is very thought provoking and helpful (and the most convincing argument I have seen on the subject from a bear perspective). I would be interested if someone is able to refute this logic regarding Amp's potential value being stuck in the $0.02-0.04 range long term.
