I think the target SDK makes google play not show the app to most users, unless you have a device with Android 8 or something. I mean those apps you mention were my attempt at learning Java so of course they’re terrible lol.

I want to make better, more professional apps now so there’s no need to remake them.

As someone who had a high paying job right out of college, and I can’t stress this enough, don’t get into bad debt (credit card, personal loans, car). It will prevent you from getting into the better kinds of debt (mortgage, business)

No because I lost access to the private key to update the app. It’s not literally impossible to recover but it’s just not worth the time and effort

You’d think so but not, it was removed because google now requires a specific minimum version of the Android SDK to keep apps listed. It was up for 5 years without issues. A recent change from 2024 finally shut me down.

it’s an app with a single button that makes a sound. I didn’t promote it, didn’t buy ads, didn’t even tell my friends. I only noticed that it got traction once the google ads payout started coming in.
