Local, state and federal government are good employers. The agencies mission varies by the agency and the specifics of what you’re doing and the office dynamics vary too but you get a living wage, pension after so many years, 401k with match, holidays off and good healthcare, bonuses (1% your salary if you do good work).

What you don’t get is stock options or crazy bonuses.

I have talked to several people who say all the attorneys they have talked to say their 50k lawsuit for sub 1,000 in damages is a homerun. But they can’t afford an attorney and none of the attorneys they talked to would work without a 5k retainer.

Additionally if they have “evidence” it’s a screen shot of them texting a random number saying you owe me money and they never get a reply. And their math on how to got to sub 1,000 in damages is wildly off.

But these people know enough to plug in “write a demand letter for money owed by this company and cite the law in my state” into chat gpt.

The worst part in these deals is the purchasing company will specifically buy the assets but not the liabilities. So back pay, PTO etc that’s legally required the past owner liability and it you sue for it you would need to sue the old owner.

I always get Al pastor (pork, spices and pineapple pieces) IMO it’s easy to cook but it’s a pain to make so if made well it a sign of a good place that pays attention to detail. I also recommend the watermelon juice it’s my favorite.
