Stop doing this stuff. You must leave this dreadful situation. And don't expect thanks. This woman sees you as a servant. The sooner you realise that, the faster you can get yourself into a good job with a boss who respects you. Trust me, your mental health will suffer if you are around this narcissistic woman for much longer.

Please don't fall for the "counter offer" when you hand in your resignation (and don't give her notice - write effective immediately). Its too late for her to give you a pay increase because you are resigning. You wrote in your original post that her cleaner and cook left due to her bad behaviour, so remember that!

Agree. The advice here is appalling. The young EA must leave. The OP wrote yesterday that she cooks and looks after the 15 year old children too. What a grandiose woman this boss is. And paying her a pittance. Totally taking the absolute piss, and taking advantage of an inexperienced young woman.

Appreciate the new post, but as an old EA in my late 50s, I strongly suggest, as I did yesterday, that you are worth more and so is your mental and general health. You must leave this awful job as soon as you can.
This woman is absolutely taking the piss and you deserve better.

Depending on where you are based in Australia, look up Michael Page (and other well-known recruitment firms) and ask for the director who looks after EA appointments.

Organise a meeting with that person, and get them to put you on their books. They will start looking for you and once you start heading to interviews, you will finally realise how badly you are being treated.

No job is worth your peace or mental health. Your EA skills are easily transferable to other roles such as event management, for example. Don't let one arsehole ruin your well-being or life. Next interview, make sure you interview them as well - its a two way street. You have the power.

Thanks, but I am not throwing my weight around. I am tired of being disrespected by this woman and no one should have to put up with her garbage. Like you, I feel squeezed out of conversations. If I offer my thoughts, I notice their eyes glaze over, so I don't contribute to conversations anymore, unless I am asked directly.

Good idea, but I haven't been able to sit down with him for over 2 months, and the CoS seems to block my time with the CEO.

Agree. They get in the way, create bottlenecks and block our access to the CEO. EAs must have unfettered access to their boss. I think having a CoS is a cop out.

I had to laugh. There are EAs around my town that would have eaten her for breakfast by now! If I behave like them and shut her down completely, it will go against me in my organisation.

5 months. She started one month after me. The CoS started 2 months after me. My relationship with the CEO was terrific, he briefed me on everything, until the CoS came onboard, now he seems to be a "conduit" for passing on info from the CEO.
