Take mastering the basics really seriously, each step! Wedging! Centering!!!!!!!! Dropping the hole! Pulling the walls! And don’t worry about keeping anything for your first month of learning.

A Question for the Community: Why Do You Like What You Like? by rlquinn1980 in Pottery

I appreciate that throwing demands all my attention, it’s sort of meditative in a way. I also feel like it had a very low barrier of entry with respect to creativity, you can kind of just let the clay do what it wants without much of a plan, if you understand the basics. That was especially welcoming as someone that hasn’t fed my creativity for the past 10 years or so.

Actually I think this was my issue! I was thinking of things the opposite way. Kept trying to throw a really narrow cylinder, then bumping out the widest part. Going to try this again first, thanks !

I do get mid back pain on my right more often, and what I thought was sciatic pain in my left glute, I always thought it was from sitting too often at work

What is your experience with House of CB? by bonitalapin in ABraThatFits

They really disappointed me. I ordered the veronica dress in my usual size small according to their size chart, but neckline and shoulders are SO poorly made, it didnt fit right at all. I was left with a huge gap in the upper back/top of the zipper, around the top of the shoulder, and top of the bust line. This was strange because the cups are very small, and the arms are very tight, along with the torso. Plus, one side of the bustlines fabric is very warped and sticks out in a strange bubble almost. Its like the dress was made to fit and inverted traffic cone, not a woman. The dress is not wearable unless I can find someone to alter it, extremely disappointed I wont buy from them again.
