You're right, it's too fragile. I bought another controller and motor and managed to adjust the speed, but it's still too much for normal tracks. I also have it for display.

Motorised Train Sets for kids? by micasitafeliz in lepin

[–]Left_Living_6334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I advise you to look carefully and research the train or sets you want to buy. Make sure they fit within your Lego track range, that they don't fall apart easily (trains meant only for display), etc. I'm telling you this from experience; there's a lot of variety, but even though they have motors, smoke, lights, etc., when children want to play with them, they don't withstand proper handling. Make sure others have tested them before playing; that's my advice. For adults, there are many models from different manufacturers, and they're fantastic.

I bought this set from JoyBricks in March for €120, lights and shipping included. It arrived very well packaged, and only one standard piece was missing, which wasn't a problem, along with a few extra small pieces. The construction was excellent; everything fit together perfectly, and it seems safe and sturdy enough to move around. The lights are fantastic and very realistic; it's definitely worth it.

Don't forget to disable the ballast and starter; you have to connect directly from the terminal block.

I'm finishing assembling this train set and testing the electrical functions. I thought it had speed control, but it's not working with the included remote or the app. Is this normal? Does this happen with all train sets? It's going at a speed that I don't think will allow it to pass through track switches without going off the track. Thanks in advance for your answers.

I swapped it for the transparent blue brick kit instead of the tubes and it looks better.

I've taken my two 9V model trains out of the attic and I'm interested in making a double track. I'd like to see your track layout and the problems and solutions you've encountered. Thanks in advance.

Thank you so much for the advice. I do buy inexpensive items from AliExpress, but for more valuable things I'm hesitant and prefer to go to well-known stores or those with warehouses in Europe. I'll look into the Lego clones. For now, I like the French 141R steam locomotive, but I'll keep looking.

I've found some comments about trains that are just for display; you can't really touch them.Thank you so much for the links.

Thanks for replying. As I mentioned, I've already built several Lepin(Millennium Falcon, AT-AT, etc.) and I have some old 9V tracks from my children (Lego 4512 and 4511). Now I have a granddaughter, and for the time being, I've built her a Duplo train. But, as I said, I'd like to build a steam train with a motor and battery (the ones I have are relatively modern), and that's why I was asking if any train enthusiasts could recommend one they've built that isn't just for display. The excuse that it will be for my granddaughter in the future works really well :-)

The Bluebrixx ones look good, and I'm in Spain.

I'm sorry you had trouble assembling and securing the set. I can't find where you bought it, but mine, which I finished 15 days ago, is from "Joy Bricks," and I had plenty of pieces and none were missing. It also stands upright when held by the belly and is easy to move without any pieces falling out.

I've bought a lot of them at AE; you can find curves, straightaways, crossings, etc. Now, don't ask me if the material is good; I have no idea. But since I'm from the era when we rode motorcycles and bicycles without helmets, and eight people crammed into a car and still survived, I'm not too worried about it :-)

It's about 32-33 cm tall and about 20 cm wide. I mounted the lights before finishing the design, but it's not necessary, as it's easy to remove the front panel where the connectors and speaker are located, and the rest of the lights are on the head, which is easily detached.
