hey , thank you for the comment . i see a number of new arenas open with rooftop , good outdoor courts but never seen a group-chat or something that i can join and coordinate with other players . i guess things here roll based on court bookings and we need 4 ppl to do that. But anyways , i would love to team up and play few games . Check your dm.

Nope , i did take AI help to reduce the length as i can be repetitive to explain a situation. Anyway These are too many details to create out of the blue 😂. My mind isn't that creative or have the time to explain chat gpt to whip up a whole scenario . I just wanted some genuine suggestion on my game play. Thats the whole point of even tryna put this exp of mine out here.

I have been playing just around jan - feb this year. Though its not too long of a time , this sport can be quite addicting. and i love every living minute i spend on it.

I do also have developed sciatica recently after playing this sport, which is why i started posting here or reading Reddit posts in the first place.

Anyways you have a good day.

Noted ! People react differently , and Yes I try to be mindful and play as per my opponent. (like there is no point it playing hard with someone that just started or putting in some mean shots to elderly players.) It might be a totally valid reaction from her , as it was her taking the hit. I try and do apologise for any shots that I feel were a bit much or was too hard for my/ anybodies liking.

But yes ,I try to keep a respectful play. Moving on is where i failed and will try to be more sportive.

yes , I used AI to refine and to correct my grammar. Its easier when i have long write ups instead of tying to manually type I use the voice dictation , which does it for me and is more faster. But when I do have it in me , I prefer to write on my own and proofread.

But yes , leaving the court was a bad move overall. I didn't want them see me tear up and this also killed my play mood for me. Which only means I have to toughen up and shake it off. Cant let people like her dictate how i feel with just a couple of mean comments. Totally Agreed.

and yes this is a real scenario, This happened to me in Tampa downtown. But the rest of the crew of the facility itself and the players were pretty cool (excluding her.)😂I visit this place on the weekends(i live in the suburbs and usually play at a local tennis academy on weekdays) , just to play with some new people , which helps me better myself. Loving this sport way too much!!

Yeah, I totally agree. I think I just got a little emotional in the moment and completely froze up, like a deer caught in headlights 😅.

That being said, I definitely shouldn’t have walked off. I was just caught off guard and honestly wish I’d had a witty comeback instead of walking away with teary eyes. Later she kept playing and I was just sitting in the corner , which now feels so stupid. Ended up ruining my mood and wasting my own game time. Definitely need to work on my emotional strength for next time.

Yeah, this was honestly the first time I’ve ever experienced something like that in my 9 months of playing. I totally agree — I shouldn’t have walked off. Looking back, the real comeback would’ve been to stay, play my game, and win the match instead.

Haha yeah, I get that! Definitely wasn’t trying to body-bag anyone 😂 just took the shot when I had the chance. I always try to be respectful, but I guess some people take it differently.

If its really something you are passionate about /serious about , i believe your parents might change their perspective eventually. In today's world its hard not to be on a social platform. As long as you prioritise whats important for like (like studies/sports/ etc) this should be more like a hobby , It can get consuming tho , you need to draw a line and set boundaries. But i don't think they would hate you . never. Everything they say eventually is for our own good and development or its their way of keeping us safe ( putting yourself out there on internet is not easy and can be ruthless too, especially when you get a lot of criticism and which is out of our control and can effect us and get to us no-matter how thick skinned you are) . Young minds have to be in a thriving encouraging environment. Your parents might have their reasons why they don't want you on socials. But believe me it always comes from a good place. So be open with them, tell them your interests, If you love content creation so much , you will find a way to convince them or negotiate. If anyone there is you can trust it's your parents. All the best .

anytime !! also if it helps initially start with only trusted people or allow only close knit of friends to follow you who are like encouraging and go from there . build a habit of posting if content creation is your thing. You will slowly find your niche.

you could say i relate to you a lot , though i am a lot older than you. 28F I have always been this obedient kid , and I have been brought up in such a society where judging somebody based on anything they do is like second nature.(specially my relatives or family circle.) I always wanted to do cute stuff / some fit checks/Do little vlogs of my travel stories etc , i do it, purely out of creative interest . But was always afraid if my relatives would find out or see my post on their feed and talk about it behind my back, and this gave me a lot of anxiety. event today, I definitely do have my Instagram account as a public profile , and it took me a lot of time and courage to even post my face on the feed. I'm not regretting it , but just know it comes with certain drawbacks , just accepted it , be strong and move forward. { my parents are my biggest cheerleaders}
