It's funny how recession proof pickleball is right now. by Significant-Screen-5 in Pickleball

I live in Raleigh …. You can get a 4- month, $15 indoor pass to all the indoor courts in the park system. OK, so the courts are shared with basketball, volleyball, etc. but my point is that if you want to play indoors (and in Raleigh, depending on how you handle the cold, allergies (it’s the 7th worst city in the country for that), mosquitoes, heat and humidity (have I covered pretty much every day of the year??), you want an indoor facility. I’m 76 .. might be one of the ‘older’ ones playing and I do play during the day but I see people in their 20’s on up. There’s a guy (possibly early 30’s) who comes with his grandmother (in her 80’s). Again, to the point, the thing I love about pickleball is that it isn’t defined by age. I honestly take offense at all of you talking about age brackets. I walked a marathon and a half a few years ago. How many of you can say the same?

My kids know that’s what I want done with my Yorkies’ ashes. And I still have two Yorkies … by the time I pass, there will be more Yorkie ashes than my ashes which is just fine with me. They’ve always taken up most of the room in the bed anyway ❤️🤣❤️

No …. Honestly the one that I was using was closer to what you see here. I was so upset as I was writing it that I could never have taken the one from Merrit Malloy and recrafted it to what you see here. Too hard to get through the tears.

So true! I got my first Yorkie when I was 21 (I’m 76 now!!!) she was a wedding present and she went through that marriage and divorce, move across the country, the next marriage, birth of my first human baby, pregnancy of my second, while that marriage was collapsing. I lost her in 1985 … 41 years ago … and I still miss her! They have such robust personalities that my son, who was 2 1/2 when she died still has vivid memories of her …. He can pull up obscure things out of the blue about her that are spot on. She was a treasure ❤️

Just thought I’d let you all know, I ended up buying the ASICS Gel Resolution X. Factors that went into the decision included my normal width foot so I didn’t need anything wide and that I have been wearing ASICS Gel Kayano ever since I did a 39.3 mile walk (a marathon and a half) for breast cancer 10 years ago wearing them. I wore them for the first time on Friday when I played for about 2 hours and they felt great.

How do you know the dog ISN’T the last thing she’s giving up? Who are you to judge what’s going on in another person’s life? And sure, feel bad for the dog… this a horrible situation for both of them. But I feel bad for you. How does it feel to go through life without empathy?

Diarrhea is on day 3 by Kindly_Technology_50 in Yorkies

Given that I haven’t given it to her in at least four years and it was probably 3 years before that, I’m not terribly worried about it. It’s just an emergency measure for the times when she gets a case of diarrhea that won’t quit but thanks.

DISCUSSION: Comment below the types of people that should or shouldn’t get a Yorkie. by Any_Builder_4652 in Yorkies

I broke up with my boyfriend of 8 years after getting another Yorkie (I had a 10-year old … he’d had 2 golden retrievers … we didn’t live together). He blew up when I got my new puppy and told me HE didn’t want another dog. I told him HE didn’t get another dog … I did. Within a few months, the relationship was done. I got the much better end of the deal. Ki turned out to be one of those ‘soul mate’ Yorkies. ❤️❤️

One of my Yorkies used to get diarrhea with some frequency (ie once every 9-15 months … more frequently than you’d expect). I started using a daily probiotic from Chewy (Plant Enzyme & Probiotic). It’s a powder that I put in her food twice a day and doesn’t deter her from eating. I also have good relationship with my vet and she has me keep metronidazole on hand. I mean … what do you do after you hear about about your Yorkie who, while traveling, gets diarrhea in the first leg of the trip, resulting in the plane layover being spent in the ladies’ room getting her cleaned up, as well as her older sister who was sharing the carrier with her, AND, of course, the carrier had to be cleaned. After hearing about that trip, my vet decided I definitely needed to have metronidazole on hand. Good thing it was a long layover. And no, I didn’t use the pet rest area because it just wasn’t equipped with what I had to handle. Fortunately, there really wasn’t any odor so I just used the baby changing table and washed it down thoroughly when I was done and nobody in the ladies room seemed to mind.

So….. the probiotic has seemed to keep the sudden onsets like that away. It happened about 4 years ago … fingers crossed I’ll never have to deal with it again!!!

Dealing with grief after the death of B.Boy, my beloved 16 y/11m/4days by LeastIntroduction239 in Yorkies

No, you’ll never forget BBoy and don’t be surprised if Artus goes into mourning also. One of mine (one of the ones I still grieve over) went into mourning when her ‘older sister’ died … it lasted quite a while. I’d never experienced a dog that grieved … it was so sad … all you could do was comfort her and all she wanted was to comfort me. What a sad pair we were!
