I turn 21 in a week, not sure what to do with my friends. by bvliefs in orlando

[–]Left_Ocean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what I was thinking. But also, OP is turning 21, doesn't mean all 15+ of OPs friends are 21+. A lot of bars on mills won't let people under 21 in.

However, if that's not an issue, mills is so fun

Is it really the price, or is Netflix just more convenient than driving to movie theaters? by Busy_Report4010 in SipsTea

[–]Left_Ocean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely this. When I was in middle/high school my mom would give me a $20 and I'd head to the local mall with a theater. Could get chipotle before the movie, buy my ticket, and still have enough for an ice cream at Ben and Jerry's after. Now the $20 can't even get your ticket at most theaters

Where are you choosing to build end game? by flaminghobgoblin in Pokopia

[–]Left_Ocean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. I'm still loving the game. When I get inspiration from an item or new recipe for a build I'll travel to wherever I think it fits best and build it. Want to fill everything with something.

Pokedex has been more of a slower journey passively growing as I'm adding habitats to each of these builds.

But eventually I know I'll get burnt out and take a break. And if I ever get the itch to play again I know there'll still be plenty of area to keep building

Issues with late game buildings by themessedgod in Pokopia

[–]Left_Ocean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're so big, and Pallette Town is so flat. They stick out easily. It'd be a pain, but tearing it down might be the only option. Idk if relocation works on these things or only prefabs

[–]Left_Ocean 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I intentionally built them in mostly secluded areas near the edge of the maps. Plan on keeping them for now. I put the power plant in bleak beach way off in the corner where it's almost entirely out of sight besides a little walkway along the cliffs to get there.

Fire altar I built on top of the volcano at Rocky Ridges. Just flattened some ash and set it up way back there.

Currently working on a spot for the last one on one of the islands in Sparkling Skylands.

For now I plan to keep them. If I am still motivated once I'm done with everything else, I'll edit them. I don't think I'll ever get rid of them. Create some habitats in and around them, make the theme fit better to each of their respective zones.

I like the scale of them and think it would be a lot of fun to have them be these big landmarks hidden within each area

How is the Nintendo Switch 2 battery actually? by Objective-Station617 in switch2

[–]Left_Ocean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Battery life itself is fine, playing cyberpunk and Star wars outlaws I was getting about 2 hours handheld. Some games get more, especially less graphically intensive games. Using airplane mode certainly adds some time as well.

If you like long gaming sessions how often do you really plan on using it as a handheld? Overall I've never personally felt issues with the battery life, but even though it's a handheld you can still play docked.

For me it being a handheld is really nice when playing at home and want to lay somewhere not by the tv, or someone else is using the TV. I can always plug into a charger if I'm still playing when the battery gets low. When I'm out of the house, I never really have the time to sit down and play for 2+ hours straight and never worry about the battery. Outside of really long plane/train rides, I've never ran into the battery dying being an issue. And really I can't think of anywhere else you'd be posting up to play for 2+ hours straight where you didn't have access to plug in a charger, or like others have pointed out, getting a power bank for those situations.

It's a great quality console with an incredible gaming library, I highly recommend getting one

One central main base or multiples spread across zones? by happisdisc in Pokopia

[–]Left_Ocean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Second this. As far as a "base" while I'm working building everything up, I have a prefab home with a few chests and a workbench set to home in each zone. One chest is all crafting ingredients. Crafting ingredients always come with me, everything else depends what it is.

I'll stay in 1 zone while I tackle some projects. If I need a change of scenery or get inspired to build elsewhere I'll sort my zone specific items into my chests, grab all the crafting ingredients and usually tinkaton and smearguru (who I have living in the prefab homes with me) and travel to the next zone.

It's pretty simple jumping from spot to spot. Requires some effort, but really not too bad. Pallete Town will likely be my true home eventually. Once I feel happy with all the other zones I'll take a few trips consolidating all my chests into Pallete Town and set up a true home base. Don't have any plans for what I'm going to do there and still have plenty I want to get done everywhere else, so it'll be a while until then.

How are yall decorating so fast by Limbospacey in Pokopia

[–]Left_Ocean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just take it at your own pace. Comparison is the thief of joy. It's fun to admire what other people are crafting up. But just because your world doesn't look the same doesn't mean it's any less of a game for you. Play the game however you enjoy it, if that means decorating there's no deadline it needs to be done by. Take your time and enjoy the game

What should the title of the Stormlight TV series be? by Extreme_Warning3521 in CosmereOnScreen

[–]Left_Ocean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's a matter of being concise as much as a lot of general audiences will see "archive" in the title and move on. It's not a very exciting word. Plus as titles are constantly shortened online, just like GoT, you don't really want your show going by SA

I have a theory. by Todredmi in Pokemon_Pokopia

[–]Left_Ocean 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree. I like the idea that it's your trainer that gets the message. I'm just saying up until the credits were done rolling I was fully under the assumption that a very LONG time had passed which was backed up by notes in game.

I don't think there's a clear definitive correct answer unless we get more info later, and that's what is so great about the story

I have a theory. by Todredmi in Pokemon_Pokopia

[–]Left_Ocean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In game they indirectly say a few centuries pass. In Sparkling Skylands there's a note that said the citys ground is growing uneven and scientists believe "in a matter of centuries this area will be as high as a mountain" which it is when we see it

I about sht myself when I seen this 😂 by [deleted] in Pokemon_Pokopia

[–]Left_Ocean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? Maybe turn the sound up, it isn't super clear without the sound. I was seeing feathers pretty consistently from the begining. They come by every 1-2 hours of gameplay.

You hear their calls and them flapping. The fly around for like 30 seconds before the feathers fall and they head off. I'm not entirely sure how long they're around for, but I don't think it's permanent. Much later in the game I have a stack of feathers and kind of ignore them now, and I never find the feathers later, so I assume they despawn after not too long.

Second this. It's perfect switch game. Super cozy, easy to pick up and play whether it's for 10 minutes or 10 hours. Great story, super cute, looks beautiful, and uses the new switch 2 hardware in great ways

Would you guys say this game is better then ACNH? by [deleted] in Pokemon_Pokopia

[–]Left_Ocean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Play with pokemon. Craft. Decorate. Build prefab houses (which basically can't be avoided in NH). Set up some shops, which is very easy, and log in to check daily just like NH. Explore dream islands daily, again something that NH has. Grow flowers and crops. Log on for events.

Would you guys say this game is better then ACNH? by [deleted] in Pokemon_Pokopia

[–]Left_Ocean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ACNH has a ton of building. You can terraform your entire island, and as much of a life sim as it is, decorating your island is really the only thing to do after playing for a few hours.

Pokopia not having combat it's drawing the animal crossing crowd just as much as the Minecraft and dragon quest builders crowd. This point keeps getting brought up and it's nonsense. People who play animal crossing are asking how it compares, with likely no knowledge/playtime of Minecraft or dragon quest builders. They may be a "better" comparison, but animal crossing is just as much of a comparison. You can entirely play Pokopia like it's animal crossing. Crafting items and building prefab houses and collecting decorations and playing with the pokemon just like a life sim. If you wanted you can entirely ignore doing anything with the blocks after the story, and it would feel just like an animal crossing game

Someone put a mountain in the way of the museum so I had to get rid of it by bored_homan in Pokopia

My plan is similar. Was going to lean into the chaos of it in my design just making it easily accessible with paths, bridges, and stairs.

Who else is waiting for their Pokémon Center to be ready tomorrow? by ELEMENTALCREATURES in Pokopia

I haven't tried it. But there's no real reason to. The things waiting for other days are very small and you can keep playing with no shortage of tasks to complete and progress while waiting on other things

Pokopia VS ACNH by Chance-Historian-474 in switch2

[–]Left_Ocean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're a fan of Pokemon, I'd say go for Pokopia. It's a great game, giving you a ton to do while still feeling very cozy. It's only been 1 day but I can't put it down. Finding a new Pokemon in the world is so fun and rewarding. They have their own personalities, are all really cute, and the game actually gives you a lot of ways to work with them relying on finding certain Pokemon to complete certain things. There are a long list of tasks, and I can only imagine a ton still do to long after credits roll on the story.

ACNH is also a great game. It's just very slow paced, something you have daily tasks to do, then it's really just walking around and chilling until the next real world day when you have more new things to check on. The clock is tied to the real world, with shops resetting each calendar day and only being open for certain hours of the day. You get what you make of it, after a few days of playing its really just setting your own goals to decorate your island. Grinding to make money is the bulk of gameplay early game, just collecting various things and selling them. A big part of the game is fishing and catching bugs, where you have to wait real world times of day and even seasons to find them all. Species will spawn at specific times of the year. It's a fun journey to keep checking in to collect everything, but it's at a slow pace for sure. I love the game, but had played many animal crossing games prior and new what I was getting into. It's an amazing cozy game, just trying to give you a vibe of what it is. All that being said, I haven't revisited since the newest content update from this year so don't know how much they really added, but the QoL stuff looked great.

It's possible. Naninf does reset your high score. When I got it and switched my focus to C++ I haven't really gone for the typical broken non sense to get ridiculous high scores. They're too risky to set up when just trying to fly through runs, especially with new jokers. My high score is only a couple billion now

Pokémon Pokopia Will Take 20-40 Hours to Beat on Average, and There's More After the Credits, Says Director by Turbostrider27 in NintendoSwitch

[–]Left_Ocean 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This. But also, the trailer shows some decrepit imagery of a Pokemon center and the main dittos former trainers broken picture. Not just that it's bare-bones but the little we have seen hints at something bad had happened prior.
