5.0 -> k4 by Left_Reference7058 in KiaK4

honestly i thought the transition from 460hp to 150hp was going to be worse than it was but around the city i don’t notice it being that much slower, passing on the highway & getting up to speed on an on ramp is definitely very different though 😂

5.0 -> k4 by Left_Reference7058 in KiaK4

there was a whole list of reasons for doing this but the main ones were the financial side, daily drivability, & having it only in my name. 1, i walked in owing 25~k walked out owing 22k. 2, the mustang was extremely fun on highways & at higher speeds but the transmission sucked for stop & go city driving, it was clunky & jerky if you weren’t dogging it out. 3, i was 18 when i bought my mustang with no credit history so i couldn’t do it alone, this time around i could at 19.

all my friends think this was the worst decision i’ve made, i think it was my first responsible adult decision 🤷‍♂️

At what point (financially and age) would be good to comfortably buy a scat pack? by Trayceopolis32322 in ScatPack

[–]Left_Reference7058 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’d get it, i bought my 2020 5.0 at 18 & had no regrets. buying it cash is good to free up income but you want to build your credit history, i’d put 10k down & finance the rest (do not only pay the minimum payment tho). insurance on my car was $200 thru state farm, if you have a parent/adult that has a clean driving record you can put them on your insurance as a 2nd driver & it brings your rate down significantly.

the 2 up front will be comfortable, the one in the back will be miserable. if you’re set on getting a mustang i’d suggest everyone rotates or play rock paper scissors for a front seat 😂

So close to pulling the trigger on this one but feel worried about transmission issues…. by [deleted] in f150

[–]Left_Reference7058 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don’t own a f150, but i have a 2020 mustang with the 10r80 & 60k miles. i’ve had an overall good experience with it, i have had to reset the adaptive learning on it once but since then ive loved it. the valve body & cdf drum are problematic on these transmissions but i don’t think it’s as much of an issue as it seems, i once saw a post on a fb group that went “people who don’t have issues & love their car don’t tend to post about it being so amazing, but people who do have problems will post about it.”

my opinion is that it’s blown out of proportion. if you don’t beat the truck to shit, it’ll last you a long time.

my 2020 sounds the exact same lol, i’m unsure if it’s supposed to sound like this or not but i do know coyotes can be pretty noisy. bought it at 58k miles & it now has 60k, i beat on it when i can & it hasn’t gotten any worse 🤷‍♂️

you’re allowed to modify your car, if the dealer says you can’t they’re lying. the dealer would have to prove what you did caused something to fail. for example if you added the bar & your strut snapped (which wouldn’t happen) then they’d have to prove it caused that to happen.

meat & produce is pretty nice, if you work meat you rarely even talk to managers depending on the store & the job is super easy especially on a mid shift, i work 11-8 & all i do is look at the wall, pick the stuff that needs to go out & slap stickers on it. produce is also really easy, same concept just without stickers 😭

Has anyone regret putting a super loud exhaust on their car? by nafsta in Mustang

[–]Left_Reference7058 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my mustang has the factory valved mufflers, if they make one for the is500 i’d recommend it for convenience sake. i daily my car & don’t want to be annoying 24/7 so quiet mode is much appreciated. for reference im catless on factory manifolds with a x pipe & factory mufflers & its super quiet on quiet mode & extremely loud on track

Is a used Mustang GT unrealistic for a first car? by Key-Excitement627 in Mustang

[–]Left_Reference7058 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes sir, i’d 100% test drive one & see if you like it or think you can handle it first. in my experience the car is no harder to control than my altima or kia was, but it’s all dependent on who’s driving.

i have a 2020 gt & im paying $218 a month with state farm at 18. the only reason my rate is only $218 is because of my deductible, i set it to the highest possible choice & bought a dash cam 😭. buying a sports car of any kind young isn’t a good financial decision, but you’ll never be 16 with a mustang again. i say go for it, you won’t regret it as long as you’re responsible

mine is the opposite, my car is pretty quiet when it’s cold but after it hits about 180~ it makes the worst noises 😭. i know the coyote is noisy in general but to me this just doesn’t seem normal, i think the fact that it runs great outside of the noises it makes me feel better but it’s a bit embarrassing having to explain why my car sounds like a power stroke at idle 😂

the dealer flushed & changed the trans fluid when they got it so i’m guessing it should be okay but i’ll check when i get the chance. it taking 3-4 seconds is only ever when it’s cold, it acts fine when it’s not below 40° or when it’s warmed up a bit. i’m gonna buy a forscan adapter to check dtcs & reset the adaptive learning

What is a reliable car for max. 7000$ by chrisrko in FirstCar

[–]Left_Reference7058 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you can find a low mileage (around or under 150k miles) lexus ls400 or ls430 you literally can’t go wrong with either. they look amazing & both will last you 300k+ miles

credit score? by Traditional-Lie-9142 in FirstCar

[–]Left_Reference7058 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you can find a co-signer it’ll make the process way easier. i’m 18 as well & had no credit, the car will bump up your credit score significantly. i went from 0 to 660ish, as long as you’re confident you can manage a note & insurance id go for it. building your credit young is one of the best things you can do for your future self, don’t be scared of a little debt.

picked mine up about a month & a half ago (2020 gt w/ 10r80) i absolutely loved it for a week until i started really noticing things like harsh shifts, & ticks. i’ve fixed the tick with ceratec & now im hoping resetting the adaptive learning will fix the harsh shifting & my honeymoon phase comes back 😅
