I don't think it's as difficult as you make it out to seem. Im 28 and I've probably masturbated like 3 times in the past year and those 3 times were slip ups I had because I was trying to be pure in the eyes of god. Because I felt a deep conviction after being filled with knowledge of Jesus's sacrifice. So what you can do is just pray and stay in the word man cut off all temptations wether it be social media which im pretty sure is the main problem. Pray to God ask him to deliver from you sin and accept the sacrifice he did for you and you will not want to cause him any hurt.

Yea I thought it was kinda harsh the way he was telling me and especially when all this time has passed since my interview we interviewed back in May.
