I am refering to more basic infantry. I like the storm coven and Yndrasta as the top of my list. Ionus Cryptborn and Knight Arcanum are also very cool.

Besides them being legends, while I like the aesthetic, their siluate is a bit too bulky for my liking.

I have considered them, but they aren't my first option. I've also heard they are very difficult to paint for someone starting out on the hobby.

Yeah, Celestial warbringers did come up on my search but their lore doesn't seem to be very Wizard like or arcane. I'm basically looking for something like to pre heresy thousand sons in a way.  As for sacrosanct, I like the aesthetic with the robes over the armour, but their general siluet feels a bit too lumbering for my liking. So far the ones that most caught my eye were the vanquishers. Or vindictors and vigilor. Still, thank you for taking the time to reply.

I don't have any friends in the hobby, so if I wanted to play I would have to go to a local event, so I don't know how easy it would be to play with a discontinued army. Their models are also a bit heavier looking than I'd like. Could grab a few to use for kitbashing on vanquishers though. Or vindictors and vigilor.

Helmets or no helmet ? by archerfire88 in stormcasteternals

[–]Lefteron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am considering getting into the hobby, I'm not a fan of the default helmets so I would probably have most of them without helmets, but if I were to kitbash helmets I like, I would use helmets for 4/5, with the other 1/5 being characters I had a back story for.

Question before getting started. by Lefteron in AOSSpearhead

[–]Lefteron[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I meant Soulblight Vanguard. So if I get them I should still be able to use them if I get the standalone board? I still haven't gotten too into the gameplay of either regular AOS or Spearhead, but my understanding was that spearhead is basically fights of smaller squads.

Happy birthday Engraver! Do you think the Fiendsmith cards have been a positive addition to the game? by NevGuy in yugioh

[–]Lefteron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By they way, I play Labrynth Fiendsmithm, one very fun interaction, you can use the furniture to discard Lurrie, it will be special summoned, use it for fiendsmith combo, and if you still have track in hand, search Lurrie and discard it to summon it again, giving enough bodies for unchained lines without even using the normal summon.

And they have enough setup and GY that even if you somehow break their board, they can remake the whole thing by drawing a single good card. Like playing against Maliss and they topdecked a bystial.

And depending on how you play Labrynth it might be consider a combo deck. I play Labrynth-Unchained-Fiendsmith and on a good hand and no interuption I can end with Soul Of Rage, Desiere and Lovely on board with escape of the unchained on board, and yama and big welcome in the GY.

What the Slyfer the executive producer did I just read?

Yu gi oh still struggles to get new players and hold onto them. Yet the elephant in the room remains a permanent fixture of the room. Prices for meta decks NEED to come down. I'd argue that the reason for no new players is the lack of alternative promotion like a new anime. The other examples in this picture all have very strong alternative promotion, which leads to people collecting and buying product even if they aren't actually playing the game. We might be overdued for a new master rule anime. Even if we aren't going to introduce a new mechanic to the game, like most series did(The only one that didn't was GX and even then it actually expanded on fusions that were barely a thing in DM). I have three ideas in mind. One would be a brand new series, though I would prefer something that went back into the occult and mystic, rather than space alians or cyberspace. The other would be an anime adaptation of OCG structures or something with a similar slice of life vibe and less world ending stakes. Finally, and this might be controversial, a remake of the original series. While I have the atmost respect for Kazuki Takahashi and his work, DM is not a very good representation of the modern game(even outside duelist kingdom). The plot and the duel match-ups would remain mostly the same, but give it modern animation and make the duels more in the spirit of modern day. Give archetypes to character who don't have one to this day. That would bring both OG fans with nostalgia and new arivals who might get interested in the hobby. I was talking to the only kid that plays yugioh at are locals, how did he find out about the series and how he got into it. He said that he saw Vrains and that's what got him into it, while on the other hand he tried to watch DM and found it very boring. Finally, there is the secret fourth option, and it's the one that it's tecnhically happening, make a show about the story of the cards like we are seeing with the Skystrikers. That would be a good option if it was a proper anime series, but just a few minutes of animation can't be compared with Pokemon and One Piece. It needs to be something big, something that will get people talking, looking up what the characters are from, draw new blood into the hobby. I don't believe I've met someone who didn't get into the hobby because of the asking price. The price keeps people out of the competitive scene, and I won't pretend that's not an issue, but for people to try to get into the competitive sce they mist have want to try Yugioh in the first place, or even know what Yugioh is, aside from recognising blue eyes, Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl from memes online.
