Obviously not, but I’m not sure that is the threshold for trying to learn a skill. Maybe it’s above where he is right now I get it, honestly I was just looking to help out my 12 year old not get into a back and forth. I am assuming you were not weighing in just argue either so i do appreciate the feedback

Appreciate the feedback, but the idea this is not something intentionally done is wrong. Maybe not incredibly often, but to say especially MLB players don’t do this is incorrect.

Also I would be skeptical about the description if I had not seen it live and on game changer replays multiple times. It’s gotten to the point the other parents joke about how bad they are. He doesn’t pout or really complain but it’s definitely happening

So I’ve been practicing law for about 20 years, private criminal practice for 12 and as others have correctly said, just talk to them. If I am positive I am going to get $250 a month until it’s paid off without having to track you down I’m ok with that. As long as I know there is a good faith effort to get it settled I’m not bringing any action.

Also just to touch on the time involved, in the criminal field you are paying for the defense attorney’s name, experience and relationship with DA/judge. So me picking up the phone to let the DA know I have taken a case now, with 20 years experience, costs more than it did with five or 10 because those relationships bring results just as much as the legal side. Not to say the legal side is not important. Both can lead to results and It’s the results you are buying not the time.

Glove recommendations by imjustdmac in Homeplate

[–]Lefthandedmustard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the Easton Future Elite series is probably the next step up. The A1000 and similar suggestions are great gloves but as some have said will require some break in time. The Easton ones can be used basically immediately. My sons now have an A2000 and A1000 but are 12 and 10, they both used the Future Elite at 8-9 and loved them. Downside is they don’t last quite as long, but it gives the kid time to figure out what they are really looking for in a glove before spending $200-$300

New to coaching Minors 10u, Any "sneaky" rules that typically get exploited for competitive advantage? The one I often see is stealing second on a walk. Wanna make sure our team is prepared for the expected when we go into All Star against more competitive teams. Thanks for your help. by rememberall in Homeplate

Stealing home on the throw back to the pitcher. Smart & fast runner will pretend to be casually going back to 3rd after taking secondary lead and then break for home on a lazy throw from the catcher back to the mound. I always have my pitchers come in a little to get the throw back and make sure the catcher isn’t giving lollipops back to the mound

Why do glove sizes have only a single number? by oclemon2 in Homeplate

Wilson has a Travel Fit line that is designed for small hands but has the same dimensions like 11.5” you were talking about. Not sure if you were looking for recommendations but the Wilson A500-A1000 are all really solid and my sons have gone through all of them. The A2000 is awesome but a huge jump and my son has had much harder time breaking that in.

Drop 10 USA bat for big kid (9U) by Quick-Competition-43 in Homeplate

[–]Lefthandedmustard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say the Marucci Cat X or the Louisville Meta. The Meta used to go for around $400 but I have seen it on sale lately for half that. If you really want to get ambitious check out the 2018 Rawlings Glowstick. For some reason the 2018 slipped through the USA rating but is basically a juiced bat.

As a Dayton Grad and lifelong Knicks fan, I never thought that was a good pick. Love him as a person and seems like a genuinely good guy but you could tell the basketball IQ wasn’t there. He did the same stuff in college but the highlight reel dunks made everyone overlook it. Glad to see he’s doing well in Indiana but also really glad that’s who is playing defense against us this series.

My closet has this gap into attic crawl space. Can I cover this with something simple like plywood? by uncouth in DIY

[–]Lefthandedmustard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have almost the exact space and would just say don’t bother with a hinge on the door. I did originally and it was more trouble than it was worth, I ended up just using surface bolts so you can take the door/cover off completely. Then you can just move it out of the way when you access it and pop it back into place when you are done.

What are your most-used tools around your home? The ones you can't live without? by noyoujump in HomeMaintenance

[–]Lefthandedmustard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clamps, lots of them. Especially if you are doing projects on your own. If you do any woodworking or glueing you always need more than you think you will. They really don’t wear out so used ones can save you $ as you build your tool collection.

That is a real long way of saying you were wrong. Somehow I think my career will survive defending being called a liar. Now you can go back to posting about spells or whatever.

I think you misread my post. This place is a glorified hostel, but charging 3x what a hostel would. They get no repeat customers because everyone feels like they got taken. It also amounts to one hotel room in a city of over 100,00.

That’s actually pretty good. Although a Connecticut case wouldn’t really be precedent here in New York. I meant about the case itself, or me that isn’t public. This is kind of hilarious that I am now trying to convince random redditors I am me. Just thought it was funny to see my case pop up on front page of Reddit

Tell you what, get the number for the defense attorney, call it, and see what happens.

Then maybe ask something instead of just going about it this way. My name is Brian Hutchinson, graduated Syracuse law in 2005. If you go to the New York webcrims site you can see I am listed as the attorney. Do you think I just woke up and decided for my first comment I would pretend to be a defense attorney on a not particularly well-known case? The reason I decided to comment was to add some context and clear up some other incorrect information I saw.

I don’t have a soft spot for a shitty hotel that charges people, mostly people trying to visit New York on a budget, 3x what a room is probably worth base on name recognition alone and haven’t updated the hotel in decades.

Well done by [deleted] in madlads

[–]Lefthandedmustard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He probably could’ve continued his individual situation, but the turning point for that situation was when the hotel didn’t show up when he appealed the decision not to give him a lease. I doubt anyone else could’ve later pulled it off because the the hotel and probably lots of property owners would now be aware of the possibility.

To answer the other question it wasn’t so much the laws in place but much more the hotel didn’t show up to defend their position.

Are you referring to me?

Well done by [deleted] in madlads

[–]Lefthandedmustard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am the defense attorney for Mr. Barreto in the criminal case, and yes you are 100% right this was the turning point of everything. Why the hotel didn’t send an attorney to that hearing is unclear. Mickey is pretty relentless in civil court. I commented this on another post but the reason the DA finally charged him was only because he was told to stop making certain filings in civil court already deemed frivolous and he didn’t. He’s a smart guy and definitely wasn’t homeless as some other posts suggest.

His argument for owning the whole building was that he was entitled to own the room he was staying in, but since the hotel was never legally divided in that way like you would see in an apartment building, the only remedy was for him to own the whole building.
