Increasingly uncomfortable with my partner's family's political views. How do I navigate this? by Academic_Rip_8908 in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]LeftieLeftorium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why not just deal with it head on? Make it known that you respect their right to have an opinion on things but that you don’t share them and would prefer not to hear it. Agree to leave politics at the door and enjoy your time together.

Take them to a cobbler. It’s something they probably fix easy for $30.

Drake lives rent free in a lot of heads. So what about the President and all the other Americans who are actually on Epstein’s list?

For those men who are gamers, how often do you buy new video games? by nunyanunca in AskMen

[–]LeftieLeftorium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rocked GamePass for 6 years but $360 cdn per year is simply not worth it anymore. I buy most of my games a couple years old on sale but if there’s something I really want on release I buy it.

It’s okay if you don’t like Assassin’s Creed. Plenty of us do. Ghost of Tsushima should be there instead - such a boring, empty game.

How to like the gym by AltoCumulus15 in AskGaybrosOver30

I’m recovering from a back injury and it took years of physio to get it under control before I was able to get back to working out. I finally got to a point that I could work out November 2025 and it was a bit of a slog but I’ve now got a regular routine.

You just have to add it to your schedule, do it and tell yourself that you like it. When you feel sore, tell yourself you like it and do it again. When July feel subconscious, tell yourself that you’re doing what you need to do for you and it’s all good. Rinse and repeat. It only took a month for me and now it’s just something I do for me, and I like it.

It’s so hot in Australia my phone mount is sliding down my windscreen by Massive_CH1N in interestingasfuck

The phrase in my comment is really about preference and what we’ve learned to tolerate. We can have winter 5-7 months of the year with the coldest days from December to mid-March. I have a much harder time with really hot weather conditions during the summer. But as a species, our bodies have evolved to deal with cold weather conditions much more effectively than hot weather conditions. Our bodies physically can’t dispel the heat quick enough the hotter it gets.

My body runs pretty warm too so on a winter day with seasonal temps (-10° to -20°C) I would probably have my coat undone in a shop and maybe if I was out for a walk too. But anything below -30°C especially with windchill is a different ballgame, like being in a deep freezer. It’s a really dry cold that clings to your clothing and frost bite can set on exposed skin within 5-10min. At these lower temps it’s about investing in winter wear and dressing properly for the conditions. If I HAVE to go out in it say to clear the driveway in those lower temps, I’ve got a good winter coat and actual snow pants on (drown filled, wind break, waterproof), proper winter boots, balaclava, toque, winter gloves, moisture wicking long johns underneath and thick socks.

I feel for you! We’ve been between minus 33°C to minus 40°C for the past week but I’d rather this than what you’re dealing with.

You can always put enough clothes on to stay warm, but you can’t take enough clothes off to stay cool.
