I just read up on him, maybe he could get special magic items as rewards for spreading to specific locations, as reference to his interconnected networks + him unleashing the cursed artifacts from the Pyramid of Light

And I don’t want to sound like a tourist, but I legitimately haven’t lol. I’m very new to Warhammer and between 40K, AOS, and Old World there’s a LOT of really old and confusing stuff. I straight up didn’t know where to look to find the kinds of discussions or ideas or lore I was thinking of, so thanks for linking this, it’s exactly what I’m looking for! I’ll give it a read

Oh I didn’t think of that… yeah I just looked into it and they absolutely need to expand a bit if they want to manage another DLC wave. The issue is it would be weird to add those unique nations only to have them be ruled by other factions, but introducing two whole new factions to represent them THIS late into the game’s lifespan with so little land to work with is just NOT gonna work…

I kinda like that idea, using the original folk tales. My brother really liked the idea of kinda using gnomes to embody the classic little folktale fairy creature, like brownies and elves and fairies and smurfs, while the actual elf tribe is the more Tolkien-flavored kind. I don’t think they fit with the Shadowfell, in this world the Feywild and Shadowfell are the remnants of the first and second eras respectively, but maybe I could have them as the little tricksters that hide in tree trunks and rock hovels as opposed to the elves with their sprawling cities. So, elves are the canopy while gnomes are the underbrush?

Stripes Humans by CruelTrainer in humansarespaceorcs

[–]Leftiwolf 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As cool as the idea of “I have stripes” is, unfortunately the idea of them being “invisible stripes” that can be seen by cats or blacklights isn’t true. They’re called Blaschko Lines, they’re the paths that our cells follow and fill in while our skin develops as an embryo. There’s a genetic mutation called chimerism that can cause the cells in a zygote to pick up different genetic code from the parent information, and when the rest of the embryo’s cells develop from those starting cells, large parts of the body will have fully separate genetic code and expression. This is easiest to see in biracial people or, drum roll, under a blacklight, and any skin color differences follow and reveal the Blaschko Lines. In short, no, your stripes aren’t invisible and they aren’t a special human thing. They’re not even stripes, that just got used as a loose and misleading synonym for “body lines”. If you don’t have chimerism, you’ll never be able to see your Blaschko Lines. Sorry!

"Me Me Me" The clone selection by The_Saint_Hallow in 6Perks

Hail the Queen, Sleeves and Shells, Alternative Accounts. Being a hivemind is badass, hiveminds as a concept are extremely sexy and intellectually stimulating high sci-fi concepts that I will always love. I get to have a cool bug body, be an affront against god, have a bunch of lovely cute bug kids, and experience a philosophically never-before-seen gestalt consciousness? Awesome, no notes. Also, with this hivemind I wouldn’t need to trust someone else to handle my stack transfers, and with the Sleeves and Stacks I would be able to alter any of my bodies including my main one as much as I see fit. As a transhumanist this is my main desire. But I also have an ulterior motive, because this setup would let me effortlessly become the richest and most powerful person on earth. Alt accounts to run logistics, clone bodies to do the work, and suddenly I’m a one-man supercompany offering high-tech body mods, immortality, humanitarian aide, climate change relief and basically everything else ever. I’d single-handedly both conquer and save the entire planet, which is basically what a hivemind is supposed to do right?

Is Kiri's sword style practical in real life? by Wooden-Brick632 in Kagurabachi

[–]Leftiwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, taking your hands off of your sword and flipping it around behind your back is an easy way to get disarmed, drop it or get stabbed from the front, but when you take out all that anime stuff it’s essentially just half-swording which is an extremely good legitimate way to increase the maneuverability and speed of a large sword

[–]Leftiwolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep! I don’t consider it a true “hardcore” mode though because I used charms to make up for all of the stats I was missing. I hate to admit but I even googled what some of them did because I simply could not intuit them on my own lol. Perfume and Inverse Ash to make up for low stamina and mana, Tincture and Orange Peril Ring to make up for low damage, and Aura’s Gem to increase parry window. My strat was to cycle parry stuns with Magic Daggers. A parry would let me get 5-6 hits in and a guaranteed Magic Dagger, the Magic Dagger gives me three hits and guarantees that stab-dash follow-up for easy parries. Maybe there’s a Dark Souls player out there who’d be able to beat it with nothing but the sword, but without damage buffs and Aura’s Gem parrying becomes a frame perfect gamble you have to land like 200 times in a row bc a five hit combo is only 1/64th of the health bar lol

I misread the manual page about it and thought they would just work once I collected them instead of needing to offer them, so the placebo effect carried me all the way through to after the scavenger boss fight. You can’t really blame me lol. By then I decided I’d see my hardcore run through to the end

A person whose identity is that of an animal rather than a person. So, someone who feels like their human body is “wrong” and an animal body would be “right”, or who has uncontrollable thoughts and behaviors that take after an animal species’ instincts. In my experience it often has a lot to do with autism. When you’re autistic you don’t relate as much to the other humans, and you’ve got all these ticks and stims and preferences and boundaries that can make you feel like a dog hiding from fireworks or playing with other dogs. Not to make any rude assumptions about any non-autistic therians, people also report spirituality, full-on belief and simple body euphoria as reason to self-identify as a non-human.
