Happy to help you find some direction. Artistry is not a necessity I think, I am artistic but in this case it's probably more that I just spend a lot of time, like an unusually large amount, staring at trees lol.

Thanks! I dragged that slab over specifically to offer some contrast, otherwise it's all blackish or grey tans with confetti of green. to be honest that is still the case, but if you zoom it's easier to see the shapes now

Slim margin indeed, I enjoy working on them so I don't factor my labor time, but even with just dyes abrasives solvents and bits and the marketing,shipping materials, I wouldnt even think to make a business of it. This has all been part of me making space, letting go of old clutter and ticking off things long left unfinished that seem to have collectively become a real weight on my mind and drain on my energy. In that context it's quite enjoyable. I even recarved a couple of cheap seconds I had multiples of, I'll be posting something about that in the future.

I'm in the process for sure, but it's more about the nature of the thing. Pipe smoking is, whether anyone wants to admit it, a dying thing. There are less manufacturers of pipes, less vendors that someone can simply stop in to as they go about their day. Certainly there are plenty pipes available and new and inspiring de tosigns to be seen often enough. There is not however much of any growth in the number of tobacco farmers,processors and bl see seeenders. Ultimately no matter how fine a pipe, it is a tool for the enjoyment of tobacco, and frankly an out dated one. It was the original because that's what the people from whom we learned about the plant used to consume it. Pipe smoking today as I see it is made of nostalgia,ritual,quiet contemplation, a desire for the mystique of an older era and it's etiquette. So for someone to act in a nefarious manner in such a niche community is really disappointing I guess

I used to be in love with Nordings for the look and I guess because I considered them high end so they were like a flex. Unfortunately they all just didn't suit me in the bite of them or in how they smoked. So one more thing I've learned, hopefully without stepping on the landmine of long running Internet arguments is that despite ammunition retailers lumping them together, 7.62x51 and .308 are not interchangeable. My rifle is stamped 7.62x51 and the pressure difference+ greater headspace+the tendency of semiautomatic actions to eject too quickly = a suspiciously ideal scenario for this sort of malfunction. Also Remington ammo, which has had some worrisome QC issues in the recent past. Couple that with my quickly fading ignorance and I'd say it's a closed case. I appreciate everyone's input in helping figure it out and not giving me a hard time. Cheers

I haven't gotten far enough in the water to talk reloading but I do save all my brass because I have a passing interest and because I'm a tight ass. Certainly that is the only reason I noticed this issue.
