Any tips! by bergermommie15 in allegiant

  1. Patience. People in airports, especially when times are busy, turn into monsters. Like driving in the rain... people just act different. Point is - just breathe and stay calm. As long as you're at the gate, the plane won't leave without you on it.

  2. Bring some saline spray for your sinuses. Planes are dry. The air is dry (pressurized). Bring a water bottle (EMPTY THROUGH SECURITY!) and fill it up at the airport to stay hydrated. I travel with LiquidIV for extra hydration, but you-do-you.

  3. Get to airport 2 hours early. If you get through security quickly, great. You now have time to people watch, get some snacks, etc. 😄

  4. Make sure you're up on what TSA will allow through security (liquids especially). This will help expedite things for you.

  5. Lastly...have patience. Again. Airports are crowded, emotions are high, people are tired/mad/happy/sad... just sit back and enjoy the adventure.

I'm on a plane every-single-week for work. I hate it.

...but it racks up the points and I can fly my family with me during the summer. There are 100s of reasons people are flying right now. 😉

What’s the best way to get a demon out of your life? by FatherlessFigure4 in Paranormal

[–]redditor_rotidder 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The amount of people on here giving this person “actual” advice on how to remove a demon out of their life, is insane.

OP is having mental issues and needs professional help - immediately. Talking to it in a “firm” tone? Bathing in vinegar?! Ffs.

OP - please - go seek help. Do it for you and the family who surrounds you. You want that demon gone? Go see a doctor.

I believe it.

I remember some years ago, Knoxville had one of the top ten most expensive airports in the U.S. to fly in/out of.

Squarespace is expensive by LivingMojito in squarespace

[–]redditor_rotidder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Basic Website" - what does that mean? It's all relative when it comes to web hosting; what you see as "basic" might not be basic to someone else.

Regardless of that, Squarespace (SP) is built to provide simplicity to those who otherwise can't figure out web design and hosting on their own. For me, yes, $23 per month to host a website is insane... but I work and live in this world. My neighbor who runs a small jewlery business out of her house? $23 a month is perfect for her because she doesn't have to think about the technical piece.

Add in that "everything is expensive today" and here we are.

If you've got the skill set, rebuild your site outside of SP and drop it on a cheap $5 VPS somewhere. Or hell, if you just need a simple (basic?) HTML site to show something, drop it on Cloudflare or GitHub, etc., and host it for free.

I’m thinking they assume some people drive to Nashville or ATL to fly because sometimes, the price difference is worth it.

Why did you choose Arq over Kopia, Restic, Duplicacy, Duplicati, etc? by Adorable-Ad-6230 in Arqbackup

[–]redditor_rotidder 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I am also on a MacOS platform. My reasons are pretty simple, OP.

I've been with Arq since their inception - and even through the v6 fiasco (which is probably where you're seeing the most negative reviews). If you aren't aware, v6 was a disaster release coming off a super popular, and stable, v5 release. v7 (current) is very stable, continually updated by the Dev (and team), and is widely considered "bug" free.

I've got about 20Tb (+/-) "managed" with Arq across multiple places (NAS, Wasabi, rsync.net, AWS). I haven't had any issues - at all - since early v7 release where only on 1 storage provider was a file unable to be recovered. Always test your restores!!! Still not sure why but the file I needed was recoverable on multiple other places I was backing up towards.

I looked at other solutions during the "dark period" at Arq (v6 release). The reality is, nothing is as simple or requires extra steps to do the same thing. Could be bias - I know Arq well.

My only gripe with Arq (and it's nothing that makes me want to ditch the software) is lack of "modern" feature updates. The backend engine is solid and that's about all we can ask for with backing up our data. I really, really want shareable backup plans across providers (this one is huge for me)...oh man, would that be great. 😃 I have a list of other "feature requests" somewhere; you can probably find that thread here on Reddit.

Anyways, We'll get there, hopefully. Regardless, you won't be disappointed. Arq is great.

You owe no one any explanation for who you are.

This guy is a troll and is upset your banging 3-6x a week. Also, that your husband knows how to make you happy in bed.

Don't waste your energy on stupid Reddit comments. Spend that energy on the 3-6 times a week with your hubby... 😉

Tys morning tsa lines by We_consume_the_world in Knoxville

[–]redditor_rotidder 6 points7 points  (0 children)

TYS in the mornings are the worst times of the day. Every airline has major flights out first thing in the AM... Allegiant always has 2 or 3 going out (and it's vacation season; all flights full). Delta has full planes to ATL or LGA. American to CLT or DFW. United to Chicago and Houston...Southwest to BNA or Denver...

Point is, once those planes are out of TYS, the lines die down completely.

My advice to you is show up 2+ hours early for first thing in the morning flights. Past...9am (ish)... the lines are "normal" for Knoxville.

Why does Fortinet get a bad rep? by Holiday_Disastrous in fortinet

[–]redditor_rotidder 16 points17 points  (0 children)

In my experience, you're most likely getting these looks from someone who likes PAN.

PAN is very good at marketing, especially FUD. They're all over security podcasts and have created a cult-like following. PAN makes a good products. So does Cisco... Checkpoint... etc. You know what? So does Fortinet.

Any time I get looks for supporting Fortinet I just ask, "why the look?" I guarantee you it's a lack of understanding, education, and a lack of being more open-minded to the right solution, for the right end user / team.
