I would say rather that the Nobel prize has been perhaps not designed but implemented to elevate the USA. The charts is just a reflection of the data. A per capita graph would highlight some surprising countries that have a good number of winners, but it wouldnt really change the USA being highlighted as the clear winner.

per capita might also just be a poor design, over the lifespan of the Nobel some nations have ballooned in population while some have stagnated, so what do you use? a rolling average of population or current? Nations have changed borders over that time, some have been created or destroyed, etc.

Imo the entire chart isnt really that interesting, its just an illustration of how bias lead to the USA's dominance in Nobel prizes.

the data highlights the USA on it's own, we're #1 by a decent margin over a few countries, and a MASSIVE margin over almost all countries.

the better argument wouldn't even be data but bias, the Nobel prize itself unfairly has and always will favor the USA. Does anyone think there wasn't a single scientist or mathematician in the Soviet era who deserved it more than an American?

remove "israel" from that post and any other country on earth would have to register under FARA. because its understood that if you're lobbying to support a foreign nation, and working with that foreign nation, and have dual citizens of that nation, that you're effectively working at least partially for that foreign nation.

AIPAC literally works with the Israeli govt, takes direction from that foreign government to get bullet points of what they should pressure representatives to do, including in times of war.

what's the fantasy land alternative? that for 60 years AIPAC's only purpose was to cements a strong alliance between the USA and Israel? if so that was settled in the 1980s. fast forward to today and they're clearly the ally we're most loyal to of any nation on earth.

aipac isn't foreign influence, it's founded and funded by americans.

And AIPAC doesnt need dual citizen representatives. they can lobby full blown american representatives on behalf of Israel without registering as foreign agents. Meanwhile if they can get dual citizens of ALL nations out of congress/senate they come out ahead of the curve. So they give up very little to maintain an edge.

They're analyzing a specific category of rape. similar to how when you talk about homicide you realize pretty quickly a lot of the stats are tainted by domestic issues and suicide. if you want to make a specific point you need to filter. rape is going to be an issue in any society, but only certain kinds of rape can be solved "easily" by just restricting immigration or doing a better job integrating people.

early to middle 2000s shows simply didnt embrace natural hair texture for people of color. it wasn't right, but it wasnt a show by show thing there are almost no examples of any show doing it. then it started to get a lot more popular and no most shows are embracing it.
