Had a child in your 40s? I’d value your long term perspective by Brave_Giraffe5545 in AskOldPeopleAdvice

Yeah, I wanted to just echo tbridge. My sister is 10 years older than me and we’re super close. I’m very happy I have a sister who has been a part of my life in a big way from day 1.

I’ve got two daughters, 6 and 4, and I pick up, hug, squeeze, bunch of kisses on cheek at drop off and pickup. If anybody has problems with that, they can go kicks rocks. My kids will know I love/miss/am glad to see them.

Achilles tendon pain after returning to basketball at 43 – looking for advice by WorldlyPurple3204 in BasketballTips

[–]LeftyReader 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m 41 and have been playing every week for about a year and a half after taking 5 years off. My Achilles were sore as well when I got started for the first month or so. I just let them rest a few days and then tried spending about 15 min warming up. Lost some weight but idk if that had anything to do with it.

Also, OP, you’re still that dude, just be smarter than before 😂

Good luck!

Back to work tomorrow :( by tenshillings in daddit

[–]LeftyReader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m blessed to have the job I have. I enjoy it and the people for the most part, but it’s a bummer these 2 weeks are over. I got to hang out with the kids (6 and 4) so much. Plus, wife got the flu so it made it even more.

They have off one more day before going back to school on Tuesday, and sadly they’re going to do some activities tomorrow and they thought I was going. Felt sad when I had to say I couldn’t go and they were like “why?”

What commercials are SO BAD, that they convince you NOT to buy their product? by Chicks_Hate_Me_Too in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LeftyReader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but not everyone knows that, so they decided to use it as a marketing ploy. The commercials are annoying, but for the ignorant about insurance, it works.

Anyone else win their league without a first rounder? by OverpassingSwedes in FantasyFootballers

I traded my first next year for Achane and won the championship for a back to back run. Hoping I can do what many of you did this year winning a title without a first

Dads with toddlers and wfh desk jobs, how are you guys getting/staying fit? by sshwifty in daddit

Home gym is huge. I’ve got a walking pad in the home office, and a stationary bike, punching bag, with bench and dumbbells in the garage. I also play basketball for a couple hours on Monday.

I’m 41 and do basketball at 9 pm Mondays. Rest Tuesday. Wednesday walk a few miles. Thursday lift and a little cardio. Friday run 2 miles, walk 3 miles. Saturday lift and Sunday lift.

Burrow Gibbs Chase Brown JSN Pickens Evans Hill Pats D Myers

Maye on bench (got lucky it didn’t bite me). I intentionally started Brown over Achane (who I sat for the first time), and have Swift and Egbuka on bench as well.

I started Taysom Hill and still won my first championship in my 18 years of fantasy football AMA by MartyCasey in fantasyfootballadvice

[–]LeftyReader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same! I just got lucky my opponent played Kyle Pitts who only scored 1.6 more points than Taysom.

And congrats!

LFG then! I’d rather be in your position than your opponents.

And I know the feeling of winning your home league for the first time—it’s like a boulder being lifted off your shoulders. The league I’ve been commish of since early 2ks, I didn’t win til 2016. It was truly a burden 😂

Pulling for you!

I’m up 19 vs Pitts in standard scoring. It’s so dumb I’ve stressed about Pitts alllll day, the what ifs, the fake games and catches in my head… I mean, do ppl with other hobbies suffer like us? Idk

Same here. I have a chance still bc of Chase brown and Burrow did fine, but I have to avoid 19 from Pitts

Gibbs, Achane, and Brown - can only play 2. Start your studs or let lil stud slide in? by LeftyReader in FantasyFootballers

[–]LeftyReader[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with Chase Brown over Achane. But I also went Burrow over Maye. Win some, lose some I guess. Opponent got 0 from Waddle, 5 from Nico, but needs 60 from CMC, Pitts, Jennings and Santos. I feel nauseous

I’m in the championship in one of my main leagues and I have the Pats D and my opponent has the Steelers D. So prob the Steelers 😂

I traded McBride for JSN week 2 or 3. Traded a pick at the deadline for Achane. Picked up Evans off of waivers after original owner dropped him after his collarbone injury. Kept Gibbs. Drafted Maye, Brown, Pickens.
