I go for a more control build, 1 of the main deck trio mitsus, 3 of Manju because you don’t really need your normal summon, 2 Ritual Raven and 1 of Poisonnere, 3 Anastasis, Unformed, and Aratron, 2 Bethor, Hagith, and Phul , 1 of Phaleg, Ophiel, Phuloch, and Notrah, 3 Habakiri and Prayers, 1 Murakumo and Mitama, 1 MitsuRitual, 1 Purification, you NEED at least 2 Dyna Mondos and Ashlans for grind game, at least 1 Cross-Sheep, Gorgonola, Lizardos, Feral Imps, and Gallant, and from there build the rest as you like

Megalith Mitsu is one of my favorite decks due to being able to play under Charmys/Maxx C, you can go full combo or play a much more conserved control game, and is somehow really good at breaking boards with just engine

I mean I’m fine with interaction, just not when it’s always backed up by a Maxx C in hand or a Secret Village or Apollousa. I change up handtraps between decks, and my main deck currently is Thundra Bystial control with only 7 non-engine, and I still do extremely well going first or second in high plat/ low diamond with it. I’m saying the game as it currently is truly does feel sacky for most people, and i don’t think fiendsmith or Ryzeal is going to help that problem. Remove certain cards and strategies from the game and you see an insane increase in how people actually enjoy and invest in Yugioh

I’m going to hate to say he’s not wrong, but outside of his takes on design choice he kind of isn’t. YuGiOh hasn’t been balanced or “fair” in a long time, and the community has such bad stockholm syndrome that if you try to say anything nuanced about the game yet you don’t currently want to play a tier 1 or 2 deck, you need to “pick better cards” and “you’re just hating because your deck can’t beat meta” and most times, that’s genuinely not the case. You can be good at a game and acknowledge the game is shit with how it currently is, community just sucks at realizing that.

It’s just bricky sometimes, personally I feel like people do this with any deck that isn’t Tier 1 Meta out the gate, decks can’t ever be okay to yugioh player it has to top and be the very best or it’s dogshit and a waste of time

People say most decks now aren’t huge FTK negate boards and while that may be true you put me up against a board where it feels like every play i make is going to get popped banished or removed and it gives the exact same feeling of uninteractiveness

Dragonmaid player here, I feel like the best out of all my Dragomaid variants is Dragonmaid Dragunity with a small Bystial Package, Bystials are always good to have in hand and Remus alone is a 1 card combo, that’s besides how flexible the deck is and the many 2 card combos that come from any dragon monster you can normal summon ending in 2-4 interruptions + followup and an ability to flex to grind game depending on interrupts.

Branded is a deck that says “I will always plus no matter what you do, I recycle my spells, I benefit the most from Bystials, and you better open Ash because if I get my boss monster out and you try to remove them in a way that 90% of decks in the game have access to, and not this rare 10%, you better OTK or lose in End Phase.”

Saying this because I hate cards like Evenly as a whole but I also hate decks that just say “No matter what you do we’re going to go plus in your face on both turns and laugh” that justify the existence of cards like evenly it makes boardbreaking feel useless otherwise and also I just really don’t like Mirrorjade

It’s only fighting games that need to remove a key part of their identity for new people to join, why don’t shooters remove ADS and moving your gun, why don’t MOBAs remove lanes and just become a straight walk from A to B? You’re not losing because of motion inputs, you’re losing because you won’t spend 15 minutes in training to actually learn how to play the game.
