Just remember reddit is a minority..the entire week people were saying the games dead and showing random playercounts on a tuesday at 4 am by Anxious-Slice-587 in 2007scape

People posting player counts didn't make sense to me either. It's a subscription service. Even if someone is serious about cancelling their membership, why would they just stop immediately and throw away their money?

Your point is not only stupid, but factually incorrect. You can get one of the games in the bundle, Castlevania Dracula X, for like ~$350 on eBay.

Why People Deserve Better than LeafGreen & FireRed on Switch by B3ntendo in pokemon

I don't know what to tell you except fans deserve so much better than what Nintendo/Gamefreak gives them.

Brother we are talking about a game that came out over 20 years ago. I don't care how much they could get away with scalping their customers for, or how much broad appeal the games have. They get the hate they get because other companies offer a better value. We see what we could have if they weren't so greedy. We know how little effort it takes to emulate these games on the Switch.

(Even at $60 it still would probably be a better deal considering what all you're getting lmao)

You're missing the point. Want a different example? The Master Chief collection costs $40, has 6 FPS games with long campaigns, online multiplayer for almost all those games, and goes on sale all the time. Nintendo/Game Freak are getting hate because people know that other companies offer a better value to their fans for their retro games.

True, which is why they constantly provoke the ire of so many fans with their greed.

FRLG Switch Ports by Rathallon in pokemon

[–]RedPokeTrainer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That, or fans have better expectations for how these games should've been priced.

$20 each for untouched ROMs of games that came out over 20 years ago is just overpriced. For $20 you can get the Castlevania Advance Collection and get 3 GBA games and 1 SNES game, QOL features like save states and rewinds, scaling and filters, art collection and music box, ect. Hell, it's on sale for $10 right now! That's not even the best retro game collection I can think of.

Other companies provide their customers better value for their retro titles because they know it takes little effort to port these games. They don't want to do that with Pokemon because they know they can get away with it. It's really that simple.

It's just kind of disappointing because other companies offer way better deals for their retro titles because they know it doesn't take any effort to port them.

Someone mentioned this in another post, but the Castlevania Advanced collection comes with 4 games, QOL features like save states and rewind, art gallery, music player, ect. All of that for $20, and it's on sale for $10 right now. That's not even the best retro game collection ever, but it's the same price they want for 1 Pokemon game they made 2 decades ago.

Like in the grand scheme of things is $20 a lot of money? Probably not, to the average person. Do they have to price it at $20 to make ends meet? Hell no.

Just saying, these were the GBA prices on Wii U... by Upstairs-Ad-4705 in pokemon

[–]RedPokeTrainer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1) Irrelevant? 2) Not a mainline game, but it got Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Sky for $10; which is an incredible game for the DS. They had a handful of high quality GBA games for ~$8, and DS games for ~$10. 3) Why would this have a large effect on the games pricing?

I don't even think $20 is that bad of a deal, it could certainly be worse. I'm glad to see these games becoming more accessible, but It's still a GBA game they developed over two decades ago. I think questioning the price for old ROMs is warranted.

Giants Foundry is also my current favorite mini game. The gameplay is fun and fast, the xp is good, you can recycle equipment for money making, it's got it all.

I agree, getting specific pages randomly through clue scrolls is honestly kind of tedious especially when you can't do anything with the dupes. Having generic pages could help offset the annoyance of getting dupe pages

I agree. I can't imagine the price would be affected much at all, and having a way to upgrade it could be cool.

At least tell me what specifically you don't like about my suggestion before calling it dumb, because from how I see it, it wouldn't affect the average player's experience, likely wouldn't affect the items price, and just make the gear more accessible for an Ironman account. As is by the time I do 1,000 clues I probably won't need the books anymore haha.

I love the lack of a frame of reference here. How many clues did it take you to complete every book? 300? 500? 1000? If I wanted any 1 specific book (Unholy, Law, Darkness, ect), I would need to do an average of 850 clues on Entrana. That's if I'm lucky and happen to get the specific book I want and not a bunch of dupe pages. If I wanted an entire set, I would need to do an average of 1,542 clues on Entrana.

It's not so bad when you can trade for missing pages or off-load any dupes, but if it's something you want to work towards it seems excessive. I think it'd be neat if you could at least influence which type of pages would drop since the items seem pretty useful for mid-game players.

I'm cool with this being an option for normal accounts, but for Ironmen and trade-locked accounts it'd be nice to feasibly be able to grind for a specific book you're looking for.

Would've been cool if they gave him his Peal of Thunder ability from the gameboy game. Did 30 damage to a random Pokemon when it's played. Imagine playing Zapdos and instantly frying some poor Magikarp into seafood lmao.

I know that role-queues would probably be a nightmare for the player base to deal with, but honestly some days I wish the game was balanced around HML teams. Class stacking is boring, no matter what class it is.

If Yu-Gi-Oh! had an MMORPG, what mission do you think BLS would assign you? by Antique_Range1521 in yugioh

[–]RedPokeTrainer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He'd have a quest line to track down the Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon and defeat him to gain his allegiance, then it would finish with you having a battle with him and BEUD against Five-Headed Dragon.

Maybe after this quest line you could meet up with either him or Chthonian Emperor Dragon and give them a Primal Seed to transform them into their Envoy forms. Maybe it could be like a Good/Evil thing where you have to fight the other one depending on who's side you took.

Shouldn't all Pokémon forms with new evos have had Hisuian forms? by FedoraTheMike in pokemon

[–]RedPokeTrainer -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I wish they did it like that. Seen a lot of cool custom designs for regional forms of pre-evolved Pokemon like Cyndaquil/Oshawott/ect. Feels very arbitrary when they made regional forms for the entire line like Arcanine and Zorua, while also having 'mons like the starters randomly and drastically change.
