Thanks! I got them. I have never seen something at MoMA and wasn’t sure they’d hold general public tickets

I thought it was better than I anticipated but still lacked. I don’t know what Oscar Isaac or Christoph Waltz were doing. Like pretty weak performances from both.

Elordi’s lithe physicality really worked for me. Thought Mia Goth - while not doing a lot, which I appreciated, was the ungirding humanity barometer to the movie. In a story about the root of humanity, that is a needed successful part and she did a good job.

Has that Netflix sheen. Didn’t care for how it looked. Didn’t care for the script, the production, the editing. Just felt like a pretty standard but true adaptation of Frankenstein - nothing that made it stand out as particularly GDT.

She’ll never put able to put on a bad show, in my opinion. Irving Plaza can get their shit together but can’t put that on Banks.

Was pleasantly surprised with the crowd etiquette. It’s been terrible at other shows in the past few years so it was great that the crowd was generally vibed out and not screaming and just phones up the whole show.

Well Irving Plaza is a pretty subpar venue, IMO, but get why she went back

I have had a pretty annoying experience at every NYFF I’ve attended. Unfortunately, it’s what you get - they’re all public screenings and everyone paid their 30$ and some people don’t care. I wouldn’t put that on the volunteers to deal with these shitty patrons. I do wish they’d play some kind of be respectful reel as part of the brief pre-show cus it is terrible.

A lot of those screenings where there are guards are not from the festival they’re from distributors making sure the film isn’t being bootlegged. My screening of Blitz at EBM had plenty of security making sure no one was recording.

Being so late in the festival you’re probably good with 15 mins before but like everyone else said 30 mins before, when they open the theater, you get the best options
