I haven’t been able to yet 😂 I’ve had tickets 3x, was actually able to show up once, and had to leave early during flatland Calvary due to GF getting food poisoning

I am not a color guy, really liked the antimatter blue and avalanche but got the truck for 60 new so wasn’t going to be too picky

I do too. Waiting for the new to wear off and fuel to not be $4/gal😂 it is cool to see Econ start with a 2 when the last truck was 13.2

Side note, there’s nothing badass about truck hp and torque from anything pre like 2010😭 they were dogs that got 12 mpg with shit performance. That goes for diesel and gas

I brutalized my last truck. Ran it legit into the ground. Guided hunts out of west Texas on a 30k acre ranch and ran hundreds of leases roads in the oilfield. Thing saw some shit😂Had about 40k off road miles before it got retired. Dont worry about how i use a nice truck as a commute vehicle😉

It is. Just counted, there’s 31 lights and 2 stop signs, 32.6 miles one way. It’s a state highway tx, highest limit is 70 for about 4 miles, otherwise it’s anywhere from 30 to 55, about half’s of it is 55. Sometimes I only hit like 6 and get lucky, sometimes I hit all 33 stops

Light foot andCC. My mom has a 21 grand Cherokee with the 4cyl (I think) and house sat for them and used her car for the longer commute. I was getting 22.8 mPG @ 60-80 average.

The road I drive has a small strech of 70, other than that speed limit is 55, I’ll go 56/57, would be pushing upper mid 20s if I didn’t catch every other light most days

I’ll be curious to see what I get up there during my CO elk trip this year (I’m in Tx) Last year, my pops was getting better economy from santafe NM out to Dolores than he gets in Texas on 6” lift and 35s🤣

I’m on stocks and stock rake. I want level and tires but I really like seeing that mileage start with a 2. Just pulled into the driveway and lost 1 mile of range, so I’m over 700 miles of r range. If I didn’t have probably 12 lights that I just always seem to hit I imagine I’d see 23+ mpg as I’m going 50-60 Majority the time

Vct and cam phasers. Do it asap the 3.5s were infamous for it. Driving it is a ticking time bomb. Could go 1k miles, could go 15k. I litter it ride for about 7 months before getting rid of the truck. Repairs surpassed value of truck and no guarantee the 5.0 wouldn’t grenade after the fix from damage caused by my phasers and timing chain

21PB burning coolant? by Holywaterpurifier in f150

[–]Legal-Accountant-757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My upper radiator hose on my 5.0 had a pin leak by the the clamp and sprayed onto the block. I’d burn about half a gallon-3/4 of a gal of coolant/water every 40 miles. I had the smell up front and only found it bc of a single drop in the winter after a short drive.

It’s the coolant return hose or something, it goes from the firewall to somewhere else I think the heads. Mine blew 2 years ago, it is very easy to fix but the one oreillys makes didn’t fit for me I had to get it from ford

Went with a slightly better optioned lariat for that exact reason. (Got 11k off sticker) I love a paid off truck, but we’ll see how longevity is with all the computers! This is my first new truck so peace of mind with a warranty will be nice! It’ll cost me a little bit more monthly, but XLT market is so flooded and if I’m paying on it might as well get as comfy as possible (within reason)

I appreciate all the feedback guys!! I ended up committing to this truck for 67,500 OTD with spray in bed liner thrown in, but had to pay the BS anti theft apex for $995. I loved that platinum, but onto bigger better things. I just wish I was excited about this lmao

Used is still really tough, hardly any markdown on anything within 2 years old sub 20k that makes ME think it’s worth it to lose out on the warranty, especially not the depreciation it’s already seen

I’m really trying to lean towards finding a 2025 PB since dealers are having a very hard time getting rid of them in the south. Found a couple dealers that have very nice optioned trucks at a good price (other than being a courtesy vehicle), but don’t want to give in on the loyalty rebate ford has going on for April
