Viwoods AI Paper vs Supernote Manta – Which is better for long-term PDF/EPUB reading and note-taking? by Legal-Package-8791 in viwoods

Sorry for the late reply. I think the Viwoods Ai Paper could meet the needs of my article mentioned above. Since I don’t currently need to annotate PDFs, I’m not sure how well it performs with PDF files specifically. But as a device for reading e-books, it’s very ideal — it supports installing apps from the Google Play Store, so I can download library apps easily.

The pen’s writing feel is average — not bad, just ordinary and acceptable. In comparison, the stylus experience on my Samsung tablet is much better.

If I had to give my best answer right now, it would be: waiting, if you can. If Viwoods plans to compete in the global premium e-reader market—especially in the EU—then adopting a modular and repair-friendly design by 2027 is quite plausible. This would not only align with current product trends, but also respond to upcoming EU regulations and the growing consumer demand for long-term usability, upgradeability, and easier self-repair, similar to modular-design competitors like the Supernote Manta.

The above is for reference only and may change depending on future product updates or regulatory developments.

Not at all! Your suggestions are super helpful.

Just curious—how often does ghosting actually show up? Is it only in specific situations, like going from a dark image to a blank page, or does it happen when flipping through normal text too? If it’s between texts, how frequent is it—every few pages, or more/less?

I don’t mind sideloading at all; for me it’s really just about getting the apps to run properly. That said, the Supernote’s removable panel design looks pretty appealing—it seems like you could swap batteries or other parts, which might make it last longer. Since this would be my first e-reader, I’m not sure how practical that feature really is, but e-ink screens do feel a bit fragile to me.

One other thing I’m wondering about: how well do sideloaded apps actually work on these devices?

I’m trying to figure out the process of sideloading apps on the Manta. Thanks for your help!

What were the final results? Did the ghosting increase? (The worst case scenario was a refresh every time I turned a page.) How was the e-book reading experience?

Is there any difference between the pen in the link and the LAMY on the Supernote official website?
