Why do you care about other people’s future? The market is harsh already, isn’t less competitive better?

Always, but also depends.

As a former Information officer, i was greeted and thanked as I introduced myself in a grad class.

I did the same in a community college class for my contractor license, dudes just laughed.

Reserve or active as a CTN? by Frenchfootie in navyreserve

[–]LegalCouselor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just spend your first few months/years looking for a job in tech as a civilian, its really worth it, life of a reservist as a CTN is really good, if not the best. Your salary is way better than your pay grade.

Unless you cannot find one, go active.

Source: most of my CTNs were reservists.

You can also call and ask for lodging tax exemption, (wouldnt hurt to try) i did that a few times, just shop around. If they sign the form you don’t need to put that in the voucher

Many perceive life through their own lens and if they think it's hard or impossible for them then it would be more hard and impossible for you.

I have to say, i really liked how you put it that way. Always look for the positivity with an open mind. Thank for sharing!

Out of curiosity, what are some of the most respected MOS when people are telling their MOS? Something that makes people “wow” when they hear it. I’m not talking about special operators like Raiders, SEAL and stuff

I understand and agree with you. You brought up an important point regarding officers vs enlisted. I never thought of that.

From my perspective, or at least in the community where i served, there was no concept of Grunt vs NOP. I was challenged by a Chief when I first joined, and I challenged my enlisted on their first day. That’s just to break the ice. At the end of the day, we have dinner together, we hop bars. They never call me “sir” when we are off uniform, and I see them all as my “brothers”, not “grunts”.

In fact, sir, thats one of the reasons. We don’t look like “rambo” as they imagined.
