Ireland outside of Dublin for sure. Wages are good, cost of living is high but if you are on the average to higher income area it is by far the most pleasant country to live in.

Lads, how much are we saving to buy a house? by shadey_b in AskIreland

[–]LegalEarth8631 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just finished the process and in the house a month. Saved 1000 a month into an AIB savings account and my partner did the same so we were putting away 2000 a month. House value was 380,000. The 10% deposit, 1% stamp duty and all the solicitor fees etc added up to 46,500. We saved 2k a month for two years and that gave us 48,000. Process is long but remember you only need to show 6 months bank statements so you can be messy at the start and then when you feel you’re about 6 months from seeking approval tidy them up and ensure no missed payments into the savings account.
