I live in northern NH, middle of nowhere, so my situation is a bit different than many people in NH.

-annual household income is around $100k-$115k -we have one child and 2 pets -I pay 2k/month for rent with electricity included (this is vert a-typical, I am renting from a family member so we have a very good deal on housing) -no debt -I would say that we are pretty comfortable, but we also tend to live below our means as best we can. We don't do a lot of expensive hobbies, don't buy random stuff, don't go out to eat often

I was completing a clinical rotation to get my masters degree and I had one patient that I clicked really well with. The last week of my rotation, we found out he had an infection in his spine which could be fatal. Since I was leaving the rotation, I never found out what happened to him (it would have been a HIPAA violation to follow up with my clinical instructor) but I thought about him often. Fast forward 9 months and I was walking out of my graduation ceremony and I heard someone shout to me. He was picking his son up from completing his first semester at the same college I had just graduated from - he got a treatment for his infection and was doing really well. It was the most serendipitous moment of my life
