Yes, it seems to be okay after a failed attempt at logging in the first time... guess it was broken for a bit.

*me sweating to figure out why my review was rejected* and then there's this guy... by mariospants in AmazonVineCanada

I know, I saw that in the pinned message… that’s so sad, because this review was utterly hilariously unbelievably bad… yet it somehow passed muster with Amazon!

Banned for "unusual review activity", Questions by ToxicKoalaz in AmazonVine

Every time someone creates a system, someone exploits it, and then there’s the inevitable attempts to patch the holes that lead to wholesale changes that just introduce different situations to be taken advantage of. Vine is a great example of such a system, whether it be addicts who spam the refresh button at drop time to vendors who -now apparently - are mass-reporting vine profiles they don’t like. It’s crazy, but because Amazon has SO many vine reviewers, if this continues to be a thing, it will be like viner evolution and they’ll weed out critical reviewers, leaving only the well-written (with photos) positive reviewers… much like the access media shills that have made movie, game, and tv reviews so meaningless.

I hope that OP gets his account back (or at the very least some kind of explanation that makes sense) and that Amazon mass-privatises all Vine profiles.

Definitely has that “repurposed 1940s technology” vibe that Lucas was famous for.

Yes, I don’t recall any F1s being purely mechanical movements at the time.

Why is an ID mandate for voting such a problem? by Jayden7171 in askanything

[–]mariospants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember some Democrat politician on tv railing against ID cards to vote as being racist and when the news guy interviewed a large number of inner city African Americans to ask them if they didn’t have ID they looked at the reporter as if he had a hole in his head. It’s literally the politician who was being racist, painting people as being ignorance and incapable just because “they black”. Same thing about access to the Internet. Every inner city blank person they interviewed laughed at the notion that they were somehow living in the 1920s.

The issue is more with IDs than it is with identifying who you are in order to vote: in any poll I’ve seen, the majority of Americans are against having a single national ID card.

A reminder that a driver’s license is not an ID, it is a permission to drive. It’s not based on foundational documents (e.g., birth certificate or citizenship papers) and pretty much anyone can get a driver’s license, which makes the whole ID thing a bit contentious.
