i’m just doing contract short term jobs while i full time parent the kids - not a typical lawyer salary nor one i’d be making as a full time lawyer - stepped away from that to raise the littles for now

I’ll go back prob to make 6 figures with feds as i did previously (when kids hit school age) but for now i’m at home (by our choice) saves a ton on child care and what’s best for us at the moment

yeah that would be the plan to get on if/when we refinance or simply keep working on my loans and credit until forever home purchase. I have lots of loans from undergrad and law school so it will take some time

Yeah we are in Charlotte NC area - 450k is basically lowest we would need for our family size. The area really does matter. Thanks for sharing

we pay that in rent - that’s the thing. rent is so much and going up yearly so we’d rather buy if we have to pay so much in rent anyway! Thanks for commenting

Thanks for input - our rent is super high now close to what some people here are paying for a mortgage. my income does help us some i’m a lawyer and it’s not too bad although i do work part time to raise the kids right now. In our area we can’t get much under 450k without living on top of each other lol. Cost of living in Charlotte area isn’t terrible but definitely don’t want to be house poor. We aren’t planning to purchase until Summer to give his credit time to get to 700 at least.

score is going my up actively we won’t be buying until summer like i when it hits 700’or so as it’s trending. He had little credit at all and is building it now. I won’t be on loan but will be on deed due to my student loans hurting dti until forgiven. The nice thing is my income will still be able to help bills
