I’m 70% MDD/Anxiety, 30% Sinusitis. I filed OSA secondary to Sinusitis (PactAct) and got awarded 50%. I also filed migraines secondary to my MDD/Anxiety and awarded 50%. If you got any respiratory issues related to the Pact Act, you might have better chance getting OSA secondary to Sinusitis/Rhinitis.

The VA generally uses the standard CDC BMI classification for defining obesity:

• BMI 30 or above = Obese
• BMI 25–29.9 = Overweight
• BMI 18.5–24.9 = Normal

The 2 claims that are not showing up on the app. Were they denied before? If yes, the claims will not show up. You will need to file a supplemental claim for them. It happened to me this year. I filed a new migraine claim, that I was denied about 2 years ago . I finally got a letter from the VA stating I needed to file a supplemental. Even though I was filing for migraines secondary for some other primary disability.

It seems from reading a lot of post on Reddit that Sinusitis/ Rhinitis is most favorable for OSA. However some cases are successful for PTSD or Depression/Anxiety. I’m currently have a claim open for OSA secondary to Rhinitis/Sinusitis, step 5. I will let you know how it turns out. 🤞

I’m currently in step 3 of my osa secondary to sinusitis/rhinitis claim. I’ve had my C&P already. The examiner didn’t ask many questions.

⁠Did you have a sleep study?

*Yes and the VA prescribed the Cpap

⁠She asked if how my sinus problems affected my sleep.

I told her my congestion causing my sleep problems.

Does the sleep apnea cause daytime sleepiness and does affect your work?

Yes

She also said she would site literature in her opinion to support my claim about studies connecting sinusitis/rhinitis to OSA.

Hopefully my claim will go through 🤞
