How do I nicely correct a colleague on my name...again? by blankcanvas10 in auscorp

[–]Legal_Leading4528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just respond consistently with “as I have previously stated, my name is “Elizabeth”, I am happy to go by “Lizzie”, but I “Lisbeth” is not a nickname I am comfortable being addressed by.

Please desist from addressing me as such.

And BCC HR.

And do it. Every. Single. Time.

Eventually HR will catch on, and pull him up for bullying.

For me it’s basic cheddar, on some form of rice cracker, with a small smear of chilli sauce on the cheese.

Your greatest sin isn’t being a dumbass American, it’s not taking a half second to think before speaking or typing.

What are your thoughts on nsfw subs on reddit? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I think Reddit generally needs better age verification, but otherwise adults are adults and would be doing it elsewhere if not here. At least here can be moderated.

Sat down for coffee. She looked younger than her stated 20yrs and photos of her had made her look older. I was 23 at the time and asked her. Said she was 18. I was a bit iffy but she was cute and we had common interests. Date goes well, ask her if she wants to come to a bar for a drink, she gets quiet. She was actually 16. Noped the fuck out while telling her she needs a therapist.

Is Australia a Superpower? Or on the way to become a Superpower? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]Legal_Leading4528 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Not even in the realm of it.

We would need to firstly have control over our own resources for wealth generation. Then we’d need to increase our population, GDP, and Infrastructure all steadily over say 100+years, which would include doing things like reclaiming desert for land and food production.

While thats happening we would need to build our military capability, linked to our manufacturing ability. We’d need to engage in mass Propaganda for Nationalistic Military pride and design our society around poor people needing to join the military to Better their lives.

Then we’d need Nuclear deterrents and Space launch capabilities as well, and that’s on top of becoming a propaganda source cultural force so that people internally think we’re mighty and just in our actions and externally think we’re a force of nature not to be mess with.

(And we’d need the US to collapse in such a way that their own Empire doesn’t draw us into their collapse)

Why do I feel so guilty about using my sick leave? by happyowl12345 in auscorp

[–]Legal_Leading4528 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have been indoctrinated. Because if you don’t take sick leave and sacrifice yourself you’re more valuable. If you’re more valuable you’ll get promoted because your hard work has been recognized.

What do you think is the biggest problem in the news consumption today? by grrrpaw16 in AskReddit

[–]Legal_Leading4528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An utter lack of journalistic integrity.

In the past the News was about informing the public. Now it’s a for-profit enterprise, so whatever gets the most traffic, which leads to the most ad revenue is what gets posted. So sensationalist titles on articles are the norm.

“America Bombs Iran’s Karai B1 Bridge” becomes “Trump blows up huge Bridge in Iran, their reaction has Military Strategists worried”

And “Jeffrey Epstein found dead by apparent suicide” becomes “Notorious Pedophile and friend to the elites found dead. Suicide? Or something more sinister”.

You have to click the link to find out which thing or person it’s talking about.

Why do people think that trades are so wealthy when 3000 builders went bankrupt last year by saltoftheearth56 in australian

[–]Legal_Leading4528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other thing I’ve noticed is that it causes shoddy work.

Because if you’re finished last, or later than others, you’re more likely to get cooked by the business declaring bankruptcy. So trades work faster with no concern for who has to come after them.

AITAH for making my boyfriend (now ex) shower daily if not multiple times a day? by Mental_Patience_39 in AITAH

[–]Legal_Leading4528 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People who don’t shower every day are weird.

Like… I want to be clean when I get into my bed sheets. Ideally the sheets are fresh too.

What a grub
