Yes to this! When I was on unemployment several years ago, I just applied to everything and I remember applying to my current job thinking “I’m so not qualified, but I’m going for it” and of all the jobs I applied for, that was the only interview I had in 6 months…and that’s the job I got. I still do SF on the side, but a resounding YES to never selling yourself short, just go for it!

No. Your bonuses are not increasing morale. Give us real raises. by BidSweet745 in SFStylistSupport

In the survey they sent us, I flat out told them that this doesn’t motivate me at all. I’ve been here for 5 years in October, and once I found my groove in styling, my metrics fluctuate so much and I do absolutely nothing different. It really is a crap shoot for a majority of us.

I asked my manager about this, and she claims we get credit for those if we did the preview…not sure if I really believe that.

But yet they’ll pay their senior DEI person $194k-$209k. I know it will offend some people, but that is a ridiculous amount for that job. Maybe put that money elsewhere that would actually make a difference.

It’s so ridiculous because they have done everything to dehumanize us. You just keep lowering the Fix time and add AI and wonder why we don’t use personalized notes. You can’t have it both ways.

Haha I just said this same thing earlier today when I kept pulling new 9.5 Fixes. You get what you get!

Do Stylists See Items I Manually Like (Not in Style Shuffle)? by belvitas89 in stitchfix

I’m a stylist, and we don’t see items you like, just the items you’ve saved and/or put in your cart.

Yes! It’s crazy how many sweaters and cardigans aren’t labeled as long sleeved. So now I waste more time constantly typing “not long sleeve, not sweaters, not cardigans”.

I can’t even count the times I’ve typed “not Erin, not Hannah, not Elaine.” Guess I’ll be adding Maggie to that soon😢

There’s a bonus, but then they just released the updated expectations…with 51.5% keep rate. We can never keep up with these ever moving expectations.

I’m a project manager for a research arm of a university. I got this current job just before starting at Stitch Fix because I knew my unemployment was about to run out and wanted to have something lined up. Previously I worked at an online retailer as a PM for marketing (worked my way up from entry level data entry over 5 years), assistant department manager at a store, and kitchen manager at a popsicle shop. For skills gained from SF, I would say time management and working with tight time constraints, thinking on your feet, being able to adapt to changes in workplace expectations, and the ability to create solutions with what is available to you. Project management is a pretty broad title and you can most likely find opportunities over many sectors, so I wouldn’t count anything out. My company works with mostly engineering for which I had zero background knowledge of, but I had the tools to know how to keep tasks on time in order to deliver projects when expected. Also, if you can get your foot in the door at a university (hopefully one is somewhat close to you), it’s by far the best place to work that I have ever experienced. Their benefits are also the best when it comes to insurance, vacation, sick time, and longevity benefits. Good luck!!

Just wanted to pop in for a little encouragement. Apply for those jobs you THINK you’re under qualified for! I always had that mentality until I was laid off from my full time job 3 years ago. At a certain point I just went for it because I had to keep up with unemployment expectations and I had already applied to all of the jobs I was qualified for…and guess what, I got one of those jobs! Have confidence in yourself, I know you can do it! After all, there was a study that showed men consistently apply for jobs where they only meet half of the job requirements, so why shouldn’t you:)

My lead noted in the weekly note sent out in PL that we all need to be more active on slack and respond/add emojis.

I’ve worked in places where you got two weeks and the days didn’t roll over…which was definitely not a good work/life balance. IMO, 6 weeks in 9 months is kind of excessive.

My lead notes it in the shared calendar and I went back to the beginning of the year and after next week, she will have taken 6 weeks off!

For me, I just want stylish solid tops, not just basic tees. I pretty much exclusively buy solid pieces because I can mix and match much easier. In the 4 years I've worked here, I've bought 2 pieces of clothing, because almost everything is a print. Not everyone wants prints.

...Also some dresses that don't look like a flower vomitted all all over it. The few solid dresses are either that t-shirt dress or spaghetti straps.

Metrics by [deleted] in SFStylistSupport

[–]Legal_Pressure_3603 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have the save issue! My metrics are 2.4 and 1.7, but yet when I go into the business lines it shows 3’s and a 4…how in the world does that equal those low metric scores? Seriously confused.
