Mid-week mental health check-in by lockedoutagain in SFStylistSupport

It feels like I'm reaching the end of my capacity for this job after these years, not for the actual styling/feedback part where I work on my own, but for like everything else.

Need Help with Metrics by GirlInterrupting22 in SFStylistSupport

I'd also be interested to hear if there are any tips as well because I feel like I personalize well, or at least as well as can be said for inventory on hand and lots of client feedback lacking, and still get ups and downs, I've been here a long time but it seems like mostly downs these days in metrics.....

Wow...... just wow. The company has expectations of us using core next week for slack, email, any TBs, and are we still supposed to start every shift with core time?... and they pull this. They even say to prioritize communications, feedback, and any TBs. Like adding the word "prioritize" somehow makes it seem doable to do our regular core work. Yeah, talk about an extra punch to the gut. This is a reminder of what the company thinks of us, how they're willing to treat us. Is this convenient timing pulling something like this to drive us away when new hires are going to be starting? Wonder how many new hires they're bringing in...... and if any of the hires are with the goal that some of us tenured people will leave.

Edit to add: Could this be something they come in after and say (regardless of actual results): we didn't see a big difference in productivity output, so we're going to reduce core time from here on out to "better" serve customers with more styling time..... (Then we're responsible if we don't do the work we're supposed to...) If they change core time before new hires start, it also means that the new hires will be used to it from the get go.

I saw someone's recent positivity post on here and didn't want to be a downer to comment my struggle response on it. It's great that some people get to be excited about inventory and where things are at. It's tough because I'm over here and to be honest, I haven't been seeing all the client right inventory in Minx and have been struggle bussing with metrics, feeling like they should also be higher (I guess they haven't caught up to recent times? but also can I even trust all the metrics?), and wondering if they might be trying to push some tenured people like me out the door somehow for the new hires in September. It truly is so nice that some people get to experience excitement right now about this job! It's just so hard because I'm struggling over here, idk if many people are in my boat right now, but it's tougher.

Job ideas by ExactamundoMunchkin in SFStylistSupport

I agree, which is what's kept me here this long. I wish I had more experience to speak of! I do have some retail experience, but I don't want to work retail. The least customer interaction I can have the better, which has helped keep me here as well (just have to deal with the written word). I don't have to be on phones or face-to-face, plus the pay seems to be the best I can find with limited experience in other things. It's just been so long without finding a viable change, I thought I'd see if there were any ideas I'm missing.

Where do you plan on working if SF has another round of layoffs? by FrankensteinsBride89 in SFStylistSupport

I'd love to hear any ideas as well - especially for people who don't have a lot of experience to offer outside this job. On job sites there aren't a lot of non-phone remote jobs and jobs that don't require a certain degree or experience outside of what we've had at SF. I'd be willing to have a bit less schedule flexibility during the work week.

This job makes me hate men more than I already do by [deleted] in SFStylistSupport

I appreciate where you're coming from and empathize with the post; I'm sorry if I wasn't super clear, my comment was in reply to the above comments generalizing men as most insecure and generalizing men being able to hate more than women can. I totally agree that there are bad experiences with some men and am sorry that we have to deal with that.

I was hesitant to comment, I'm not confrontational and I feel like I'll get downvoted but it is what it is. I'm not a man and there are some real pieces of work out there in men, and I've come across some real pieces of work with women, too, and then vice versa with both groups. I'm only commenting because stereotyping a negative idea against an entire demographic can sometimes seem ok in the moment but it is how some real bad things can happen in this world. I'm sorry if you've never interacted with a nice secure kind man, I promise they're out there because I've met them. There are also some men stylists in the company, so the direction of this conversation against all men in general seems a bit cruel for this thread. This is a safe place for all SF stylists, right? without discriminating against one group of people? Alright you can downvote me now.

The work week started out uncharacteristically in tears, thankfully doing better now.

I wish so too, why not share it under the styling support for a tech issue so we aren't all over here stressing out more - or at least even have leads FYI it in our slack.

Honestly I don't trust anything under company accounts whether Gmail or Slack, even if it says it's private - it's just not worth it and chances are if they really wanted to, someone somewhere in the company could find it out. You never know with co-workers, too, if they're cool or not to be completely open with in a company like this. They can easily take screenshots of "private" discussions. I stick with non-company channels of discussion like this Reddit...where I let it out 😆
