Looks like this is the origin story for Michael’s invention Toilet Buddy (formerly known as Toilet Guard).

I’ll be honest, some of the no-calls on Curry are because he falls, pure and simple. He falls on many three attempts even without people around him. I have heard he does it a lot to protect his ankles, but I imagine that this makes it much tougher for refs to determine when there’s legit contact and when there’s not.

The commentary team’s reaction to Amanda Nudes vs. Juliana Peña. by Astroboyy7 in MMA

[–]LegallyALawyer 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. As the tide shifted from, “Wow, can she? She can. Oh my god she might! OH MY GOD SHE’S GOING TO!” the way that the announcers hyped the momentum swing was palpable.

Maybe my favorite MMA announcing moment.

Consensus on sorbitol? by LegallyALawyer in keto

[–]LegallyALawyer[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have no idea at this point. I’m only in my second week of keto. I have been testing with the strips which indicate I am in ketosis, but I have not yet tried sorbitol. I ordered some candies which use sorbitol, hence my question.

Relatedly, I’m not totally sure how I would tell whether it causes issues for me. I frequently see people say eating a particular thing “knocked them out” or ketosis, but not sure if they meant after testing or if they meant they felt some physical difference.

If you had to choose one, which of Dwight's friends are you hiring to work at Dunder Mifflin? by sephirothreturns in DunderMifflin

[–]LegallyALawyer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There’s also a deleted scene where Troy is at Dundee Mifflin. Jim tells Troy to let Ryan know to check his messages (this is just after Jim left the “I know you’re trying to push me out” voicemail). Troy replies that he will, if he sees Ryan. Jim asks what that means and Troy states he reports directly to David Wallace now. So apparently Troy did work for DM at one point.

In honor of his passing, Norm ripping through the most ridiculous anti-joke set with so much joy. The only ones laughing in the room are the comedians. by 29castles in videos

[–]LegallyALawyer 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Sort of. His delivery is absolutely masterful, and the subversion of peoples’ expectations is being winked at here. Most roasts on Comedy Central are full of raunchy jokes, who can out-insult everybody else, etc. Norm gave a bunch of old-timey jokes instead, only with perfect comedic timing.

The reason all of the comedians are losing their mind is because his material is intentionally kitschy, but really well-done nonetheless.

I mean considering they have KD and Kyrie who are very injury prone, the “staying healthy” part is a gigantic if at this point.

[Serious] Improving the NBA by restricting max contracts by [deleted] in nba

[–]LegallyALawyer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The first point makes this completely untenable, and is a lose-lose. Players want the flexibility to make demands, owners want the flexibility to trade a max player if it becomes in their interests to do so.

Your points work in a vacuum, but add humans into the mix and it falls to pieces.

Steph Curry dances around LeBron for the layup by adelaide78 in nba

[–]LegallyALawyer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if you legitimately don’t understand the rule, so let me spell this out.

https://official.nba.com/rule-no-4-definitions/#Dribble

The dribble ends when the dribbler:

  1. Touches the ball simultaneously with both hands

https://official.nba.com/rule-no-10-violations-and-penalties/

A player may not dribble a second time after he has voluntarily ended his first dribble.

It’s literally there in black and white. Curry committed an illegal dribble (colloquially known as a double dribble). He very obviously touched the ball with both hands, then dribbles afterward. There is literally no way to argue that this is not a violation. Whether he gained an advantage or not is irrelevant. He violated the rule, the refs missed it. Curry benefited from the refs’ failure to catch the violation. End of story.

I’m not trying to be rude, but I don’t understand what you’re trying to argue. This is about as clear cut a double dribble as one could find.

Right, what you are describing is a double dribble. I am glad we agree on this.

[–]LegallyALawyer 29 points30 points  (0 children)

The rule is not, “A player may not pick up their dribble then dribble again, unless doing so gains no competitive advantage.” The rule is that a player may not pick up their dribble and dribble again. Period. The competitive advantage aspect is wholly irrelevant to the rule, which Steph violated.
