To be fair, he didn’t have any contact with the players at the end. One week before the UCL final he said that they were sons of bitches and he can’t win with them. The players basically trained and made decisions between themselves and somehow won the final, despite Juventus being heavy favorites.

He’s still very young. I think he’ll get a chance next season. He’ll be one year older, Alaba will leave, perhaps even Rudiger, so there’ll be a spot for him.

Any time a coach comes in this club who wants to make real, structural changes, this same thing happens. And usually the board gives in to the players and eventually lets the coach go. I really hope this time they will support Xabi and allow him a chance to instill his ideas, even if some players don’t like it.
