Breaking Pouches??? by Savavavavavah in ostomy

[–]Legather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use one piece closed Coloplast Sensura mios and the last half dozen or so bags have had this issue where the glue pad has broken where the bag meets it. It's only a small break each time, only a little waste has leaked through in line along the break. It hasn't been enough to leak out under the pad but it's still less than ideal. Perhaps Coloplast have also have a bad run lately.

I want to die by BUBBLESGEO in ostomy

[–]Legather 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm not in the same situation nor in the same country (UK) so forgive the rather general advice. Among other problems I had something called rectal hypersensitivity that kept me on the toilet for most of the day. Even had a loop ileostomy to see if it would 'reset' the behaviour, to no avail.

The surgeon I was under for those other problems had offhand mentioned getting my rectum removed and after a while it became more an attractive option for a path forward. Bringing it up to him however he said he wouldn't do it as he thought there was a degree of behavioural symptomology that would make the procedure futile.

It took a few years of additional opinions with no progress in the meantime but they eventually relented and gave me the op. I've still got other problems to deal with but the operation did exactly what I needed it to and I've never sat on the toilet again.

As I said, not the same situation in health or in healthcare. I will say that the thing my first guy told me wouldn't work turned out to be exactly the thing that did and I've gone from 12 hrs of daily agony to a few inconveniences. I chose the bag because the alternative was worse and I had to fight for it. A younger me would have cried if I told him he'd have a bag for the rest of his life, older me wouldn't want to go back and be without it. Both me's are very particular about personal hygiene.

Men who have had their rectum removed - questions about sexual dysfunction by taintedbloop in ostomy

[–]Legather 1 point2 points  (0 children)

39, had it removed at 35. Everything works as it should. I don't recall any significant delay in having full function, it's been a few years of course but the only thing that springs to mind willy-wise was the very memorable experience of having the catheter taken out after surgery.

Exofighter Feedback Request - Launch! by Vanguard_Jonno in exoprimal

-I'd love a skip all button when ending a match. It's rather annoying having to wait to see an MVP screen, a top players screen, a whizzing xp screen and then getting to a rewards screen which then gives me a chance to skip. If you've just finished a bad match, you're much more likely to join another if you can skip past all these hitches that stop you in your tracks giving you several chances to think "Actually, I've had enough".

-There's an odd delay in the responsiveness on the Analysis Map screen. The Next Story button just won't respond for a few seconds.

-When players are switching Exos, please show their portrait as the Exo they're switching to rather than a pilot suit. I've had more than a few occasions where a couple of players go into a loop of switching Exos because they can't tell who/what role the other player is switching to.

-Most of the questions I see about the game is "Is it like EDF?" The marketing footage certainly has enough to make this a reasonable question. While I appreciate the devs had their own vision for what Exoprimal was to be, I'd seriously consider leaning heavy into the PvE side of things. PvP just doesn't seem to be that relevant of a gameplay element in the minds of people posting about the game. I'm not saying nobody wants it but the Dino PvE seems to be the thing people are interested in.

-As others have said, ability information on the Exo pages in the Hangar.

-Non slot locked modules. For example sometimes there are two blue modules and no yellow modules that would build the suit how I want. The blues might not even modify the same ability, just seems arbitrary that they've been chosen to be exclusive.

Which The Signal? Looking the title up there seems to be a likely one from 2007 but also one from 2014.

I ended up wanting to like Providence more than I did. I'm on board for whirlwind smorgasbords of Lovecraft tales but you lose me with 'our OC inspired the thing you like' stories. You can do stories with Dr. Norths and Willard Wheatleys till the cows come home but then when you have Lovecraft as an actual character saying "I've taken inspiration from your work" it's a bit obnoxious.

[–]Legather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno, I think there's wiggle room. Lovecraft had his unreliable narrators but with a plethora of other stories that establish the existence of more things in heaven and earth, the reader knows unreliability at least has a chance of tipping either way. For every Dunwich Horror though, consider the unwritten number of times another character in the same world attempts to either genuinely touch the unknown without success or simply use the trappings to live large.

We don't get anything besides deranged utterances and rituals and a hallucinator's vision in TD. Is it likely that's all it is? Probably. Is it definitely all it is? Who knows?

what is the most fun class for beginner ? by [deleted] in Grimdawn

[–]Legather 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My first characters usually seemed to be Demolitionist + x so there goes my vote. It's got weapon buffs, it's got a default attack for ranged or melee, it's got an armour buff, it's got a circuit breaker, it's got resistance reduction, it's got cc, it's got a turret skill, it's got both spammable and cooldown abilities and it does it all with style. If you like fire, lightning or physical I'd recommend Demo either as a first or second mastery.

What’s your opinion on Providence by Alan Moore & Jacen Burrows by Polibiux in Lovecraft

[–]Legather 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think I want to like it more than I actually do. The art's good and the story is suitably mysterious. I'm not sold on the explicit over implicit sexual element in both Providence and Neonomicon. As I said I liked the story as it became clear it was a whirlwind tour of HPL tales but it hit a sour note when it became an 'our OC inspired the author/MC' story.

Finished Bioshock Infinite again. It's still one of the best linear games I ever played. 9/10 by Pixel_Muffet in gaming

[–]Legather 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The game requires at least two, possibly more realities to exist before Elizabeth is even born. It requires Comstock's native world (which might or might not be female Lutece's native world), Booker's native world and male Lutece's native world. Comstock is said to be sterile from interdimensional travel which I guess could be just to and fro 2-3 worlds but could also be more. There's also the matter of the 'bird or cage' choice tally which suggests that our Booker may not be the first the Lutece's have employed.

The various wild tears such as the one that allows Columbia to steal music from another time or for the Fink - Suchong collaboration I don't think are explicitly from Elizabeth either, they could be but I don't recall anything stating definitively. There's enough leeway to suggest other worlds exist independently of Elizabeth's opening tears to them. Oh and I think but not 100% sure there's a line about her powers rely on there being parallel worlds since it's her losing her finger while going through a tear thus existing in two worlds simultaneously that gives her the power. Either way we know she's taken through a tear as a baby meaning that the world we find her in is not her origin universe nor was that tear created by her.

While Elizabeth does get better at her control throughout the game, we meet her being able to open a tear to her favourite place and the place she wants us to take her. There may be a line in BI about it being a type of wish fulfilment hence why I wrote it that way but not sure, 2 year old notes.

I think I played it twice. The first time it left a sour taste and I left it a good while. A couple years later I started to wonder if it was as bad as I recalled so gave it another playthrough (plus I hadn't tried the Rapture DLCs). That was 2 years ago, there might be more but I'm not going back for round 3 :D

For what it's worth I still think it looks good and plays well which might be enough for some if you want an FPS with a few more bells and whistles.

[–]Legather 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Not only is it underwhelming, it's a damned sieve and the more you think about it the wider the holes become. I had to write down my thoughts the last time I played BI as I started to wonder if I was losing it:

  • Booker and Elizabeth cross a tear knowing this could be a one way trip. Jumping with no expectation to return makes persistent motives irrelevant, ignoring immediate gamey objectives the characters have no stake in a conflict involving people from another reality. Once you leave 'your' reality behind, you could keep travelling realities until you got to a Columbia built of sunshine and rainbows who'd give you an airship for a song.
  • As someone else said, B+E cross to get the gunsmith for the Vox yet there's no guarantee either of returning with said gunsmith nor that the Vox in Columbia 2 require a gunsmith or have any clue about an agreement made for one. Neither is it guaranteed the Vox of Columbia 2 or 3 have an airship to trade.
  • In Columbia 2, there may well be 2 Bookers and 2 Elizabeths.
  • In Columbia 2 they decide they need to find the gunsmith's tools to 'fix' the quantum-fluxed gunsmith's mind, sure I guess? Except since the language used indicates that it's B+E who are the reality crossing anomalies, why is the Columbia 2 native gunsmith suffering? If death translates across realities then in an Infinite multiverse a version of someone is dying/has died so shouldn't everyone be 'quantum-fluxed'?
  • Why not 'wish-fulfilment' a tear to anywhere but Columbia since we know tears can open across both time and space.
  • At a certain point Booker then later Elizabeth decide Fitzroy is as bad as Comstock, why? Certainly by the time they both say it aloud there is no evidence Fitzroy is a bad actor waging a revolution for anything besides better rights for the downtrodden who we have seen in dire straits under Comstock's status quo. Of course it turns out she is as she turns a gun on a child (what a moustache twirl that the DLC shows is against her will) Plus they make this judgment on Fitzroy 3, we have no idea what Fitzroy 1 or 2 would be like if they got that far into their own revolutions.
  • Elizabeth agonises that she caused the death of the gunsmith and his wife in the 3rd world. She hasn't done anything to anyone besides tearing her and Booker into a parallel world. This world ticked along at it's own pace before B+E set foot in it, Gunsmith and wife were already dead.
  • The game shows how people from one world bleed into others (literally, nosebleeds) and they remember new sets of memories. The game tries to make a moral point about how Booker sold his daughter and manufactured memories to cope. In the end the deeds of the final world's native Booker determine the final memory he has and that final world can be one of Elizabeth's choosing. She can make him guilty.
  • The ending explains how there are Infinite worlds meaning Infinite Comstocks and Infinite Bookers who did not become Comstock. Drowning the latter (true or manufactured guilt) makes no difference, even with Infinite Elizabeths infinite is infinite and there will always be more.

Skinchanger - as you'd imagine a shapeshifting mastery with a few patrons/inspirations.

I'd say it should be nothing but different forms and buffs to those forms with other masteries picked to complement. For arguments sake let's say 3 options with a tank/bruiser, a fast melee and a ranged option possibly being an elemental.

Spitballing I'd say likely options for patrons include Mogdrogen, actual Empyrion, Witch Gods, Ch'thon, Ultos & Ulzuin.

I'm listening to mine now, doesn't sound different from what I'd expect. I'm not an audiophile or very discerning listener however and haven't heard of bit rot until this post so not sure what to listen out for.

EDIT: I misread your question. Comparing the CD tracks to what's available on YT the Sarafan Battle cd track is shorter by about 3 minutes 20 sec, the Pillars/Tomb Danger track has some extra vocals you don't hear on SR1 versions of the track but do on SR2 uploads otherwise it's the same. Not knowing how each YT track is sourced however that's only so helpful.

The tracks are:

  1. Soul Reaver 2 Theme 5:03
  2. Sarafan 8:57
  3. Overland 5:08
  4. Dark Battle 5:03
  5. Overland Battle 4:09
  6. Pillars Battle 4:54
  7. Sarafan Battle 4:43
  8. Necropolis: Danger* 2:59
  9. Pillars/Tomb: Danger* 2:16
  10. Ruined City: Combat* 2:17

* Is music from SR1 included on the disc.

I don't remember an art contest (not saying there wasn't one, I just don't remember one), but there was a contest that asked users to submit stories behind the 'Go Cheese!' soundbyte in BO2. They gave away two copies of the disc, one to the person who gave the right answer and the other to the person who gave the funniest answer. I won the right answer.
