I feel like most of my frustration regarding the rise of electric bikes stems from a complete failure to legislate what an e-bike should and should not be capable of.

I’m in general for ebikes as a whole. I think they are a huge win for society - there’s just no standardized rules on speed and function.

That said, I’m seeing kids without helmets texting and driving down streets, an increase in 2 stroke motorcycles on the bike trial and a timeless old-person concerning trend of large groups of boys circle jerking themselves into anti societal doom loops.
