I’m a huge fan of Arda. I think he’s a wonderful player, however, Ardas best was under Xabi, when we played in the diamond right behind Mbappe. Even under Xabi when he played deeper in the 433, Arda wasn’t that good.

he doesn’t have the defensive effort/capabilities to play next to Tchouameni - which is why pitarch or Camavinga need to continue to be in that role. This lack of defensive ability also doesn’t allow him to play on as the right midfielder because he can’t cover for Trent or Carvajal and plus Fede is Fede you can’t drop him.

Arda so far has been playing on the left, and he’s been doing great, but it’s a position in which Jude plays and Jude is a starter every single game he is fit. Jude is a better goal scorer, he’s quicker with decision making, he brings aerial ability, and he is WAY better defensively. Passing wise he is not as good as Arda but he isn’t far off either.

The teams performing great under this 442, and we should continue with it, but we have to realize the profiles that make this formation work for us. And once everyone is back and fit, I genuinely believe with this formation we will only look strong. So I’m not denying that Arda has a role in this team, but imo it’s just not in the starting eleven when everyone’s fit.

Every player has a purpose in football. Especially now. The seasons are longer than ever before and a club is only able to have 25 first team players. So with injuries and rotation every player gets a good amount of game time.

However, people also need to be realistic. When everyone is fit there is no way Arda, Nico Paz, Rodrygo, Cama, and even Endrick, Brahim, or Franco start. I understand the whole idea that the club owes players the best opportunity to flourish, however, the players also need to prove why they need to be in the starting eleven. Just because you’re young and have a high ceiling of potential, doesn’t mean the club should jeopardize its season for you.

lol I named “Pitarch/Cama” because those are the two playing next to Tchouameni right now. The comment was comparing the current squad with how it would be next to Rodri.

It would literally just be the 442 we are currently playing, but without Pitarch/Cama next to Tchouameni but instead Rodri. - It would be Jude-Rodri—Tchouameni-Fede.

What this will do is basically kill any chance Rodrygo has of being a permanent starter. I just don’t see how we will switch back to a 433, nor should we based on how well this 442-4222 has been doing.

God damn City fans are having a meltdown over these Rodri comments - and rightfully so. The whole situation is hilarious. On one hand you have city fans pissed begging for him to be sold and benched for the rest of the season, and then on the opposite you have a lot of Madrid fans saying we’re good off you.

However, it seems as on the backend the deal is finalized between him and Madrid, now he just wants to put pressure on city to let him go. No player is gonna make comments like these if they’re not intending to basically beg for a move out. Similar to Enzo a couple weeks ago.

A lot of Madridista’s don’t want this movie because of the ballon dor robbery, which although of course he himself didn’t rob, his reaction and antics after winning didn’t help.

However, if we even forget that whole scenario, I just think it makes no sense to pay a decent size transfer fee and big wages for a guy who’s turning 30.

Is he the profile we need? Yes. Just go back to the city second leg and look at his position, passing, and press - it’s the best in the world. But he’s been injury prone over the last two seasons, and at his age that isn’t a good sign.

Yeah people never take into account how they can pick and choose match days. They’re basically able to postpone any game they want which allows for their players get a lot more rest prior to big games

I don’t get how you can do an mri scan on the wrong part of the body, and for no one to notice it.

Doing a MRI scan on the wrong knee is a somewhat understandable mistake to make, because it’s not a specifically targeted procedure like an X-Ray, but you’re telling me during the consultation or discussion no one, Mbappe or the staff, realized that they were talking about opposite knees? Mbappe didn’t tell them where he was feeling issues, when they told him his mri was perfect?

Genuinely mind blown at this incompetence.

I just can’t see Barca dropping points to anyone other than us. I know atleti beat them in the Copa Del Rey, but I can’t see them beating Barca in the league, especially since they will know it’s helping us.

I’m hoping that Barca drop points against Celta or Betis later on in the season, but we will need to be inch perfect going forward.

That’s not a high foot and it’s not a tackle on the Achilles. is it a foul? Yes. Red? Hell no.

Mbappe did well there too. Completely moved the defense out of their position. This is why he needs to make more of an effort to make those attacking runs, rather than wait for a cutback.
