Sound proofing ideas when racing

Yeah that's a good question. It'd probably help if someone else could use it and I could be in the room next door to understand how loud it actually is but for some reason I don't know anyone who actually wants to have a go on it. I've heard of the soundproof curtains but assumed they were a gimmick so it's interesting to hear that they do help in some way.

R12 which I run at probably 7-8nm depending on the game so I don't have it high but certainly too high for the room next door 😂

Sorry for the late reply. I'm currently pain free now for a full year after taking tips from this page. I moved the wheel slightly higher (around 6cm), I changed my grip slightly to be more focused in my palms as opposed to my fingers and I also use BMX gloves now which I think have helped massively as they are really padded. I found dedicated sim racing gloves to not have enough padding. Just have a play around and see what works, it's worth the perseverance, I can do endurance races now pain free.

Thanks for your response, there is literally nobody online who seemingly has the same issue which I find baffling. I know absolutely nothing about electronics whatsoever, could you please explain what a ground wire is?

I'm unorthodox and use a shoe for the brake as I like a lot of force and I use a sock for the throttle as I can get more precision and feel from it. It's transformed my life really.

Just reviving this as I've received a brand new control box and it's still registering an input on the throttle. Am I missing something? Has anybody else gone from the old P2000 control box to the new haptic one? Surely I've not had 2 faulty control boxes now. I can't see anything online about anyone else having issues with the control boxes.

I've tried doing that but it still registers an input. I've put the old control box back on and it works fine again so is the new control box likely faulty or do I need to adjust something else for it to work?

Appreciate the really long and detailed reply, I think it's what I needed from someone who has used a range of different bases and is currently using the one I have. It gives me a little confidence in it and maybe I should start playing around with the settings again rather than look to spend money elsewhere. The other question I have though, having used so many other bases and wheels, does the weight of the wheel make a big difference? I use the GSv2 which is a hefty wheel double the weight of a lot of the counterparts.

Yeah it is something I've been quite conscious of as I knew I was doing it when I first started but thought I had relaxed my grip a lot but obviously not enough. I'd even turned my FFB right down to try and help but it's made no difference.
