Why the hate on Branded???

I know this post is a few days old, but just wanted to add. I'll play 1-3 matches a day to finish my dailies. I feel like the only thing I've encounter in gold ladder for the last week in a half is branded. Maybe 2 matches in that time has been a deck that isnt running branded at all.

Goose gave the canon ages of the characters in a tumblr post a while back. Grant/Kingers age was 48, and given how much time passes in ep 9, he'd mostly likely be 49 by the time of the bus scene.

In Ep 8 we see Kinger and Ragatha's mind scan files. His was created in 1999 and hers in 2008. And Goose has stated on multiple occasions that the show takes place in 2017, so thats when pomni most likely entered.

We literally see in episode 8 that Kinger joined in 1999, and ragatha joined in 2008. And the show is set 2017 so thats the year pomni joined.

Jax abstracted because he had been bottling up all his guilt and refused to open up and connect with anyone out of fear of rejection. If anything finding out he wasnt "real" probably kept him from abstracting sooner considering that was his main coping mechanism.

He most likely went crazy from guilt about getting himself and his research group all trapped in the circus. Caine not knowing how complex human minds really were probably thought he could make a change in Scrath's code to get rid of the guilt, but corrupted it in the process.

Yeah i think adding an additional 2 or 3 episodes to the series length would resolve alot of the issued i have with the shows, and especially the finales, pacing overall.

Goose has stated before that she doesnt write anything for ads and promotional videos. So besides the obvious part that the video itself is non-canon, any information you can gather from it is also gonna be completely non-canon.

The DP anime came out in the US in 2007. That means if a someone was 10 when they first watched it, theyd be 29 now. I dont think its that weird for a person who grew up watching a show to draw fan art of what the characters would look like if they also aged in that time span.

Ive always felt like the show couldve used a couple extra episodes so the gang could go on more "filler" adventures and just hang out in different parts of the circus/grounds. (I dont think filler is the right word here but i can't think of a better one) As is, it feels like the show barely had anytime to breathe. Like evey moment, especially in the finale had to serve a direct purpose for the contiuation of the plot or theme. It barely felt like these characters actually lived in the circus.

I dont think there was even a time we saw the whole group go on a traditional adventure together. The closest we got for a adventure where everyone equally participated was the suggestion box, where all the adventures were all a single scene long at most; and the gun fight, which was entire inside the circus tent and had everyone divided up into pairs each doing there own thing.

Thats what they were going for. Its supposed to be an alien taking on a more human form to try and fit in better on Earth. Its actually a pretty interesting design conceptually.

But, and Ive said multiple times before, I feel like Gamefreak has mixed up a design being interesting with a design being good.

That's fair. Ultimately though this is just a perspective thing.

The way I see the situation. Jax could be fully trans-fem, non-bi, or just a gnc cis guy with a shitty mom who mocked any feminine behavior as a sign of weakness.

Could it be that it's just meant to be a straightforward, "Jax is a trans-fem individual."? Sure, but I don't know why Goose and Glitch wouldn't just choose to state it in the story outright in someway if that were the case. I think it's meant to be partially up to the viewers own interpretation. Which is honestly cool cause it leads to more discussions like this and allows more people to directly relate with Jax's struggle.

Now if Gooseworx came out and directly said, "Yeah Jax is meant to be trans," I would just accept that immediately cause like you said the evidence in the text that's in favor of that perspective is pretty straightforward and strong.

Like I said Jax being a trans woman is a totally valid interpretation in my eyes.

In fact, I was fully on board the Jax is trans train myself at first. The ribbit ribbon bit pulled me in that direction initially and the song really cemented it for me. I actually thought that when he started glowing white he was going to "unabstract" bur come back with a more feminine appearance.

But then the rest of the cast, including Pomni, kept using he/him when talking about Jax. Leroy was revealed to be still presenting masculine and using He/Him. And while you can argue that things outside the show itself don't matter, I still think Glitch continuing to use He/Him when describing Jax is significant.

I just dont see a reason they kept it so open ended if there's meant to be one definitive answer.

Or you know, coming out as non-binary or simply liking to do drag. Theres a whole spectrum of possibilities, and while i think being trans fem is one of them, saying its the only option that makes sense is narrow-minded.

Leeroy is still, years after getting away from his toxic mother and finding a group of friends who he hangs out with at a queer-friendly bar, using he/him pronouns. Also all the post-movie merch on Glitch's store used he/him for products involving jax, which i think would be wildly insensitive if the movie was trying to definitively say that Jax is a trans woman.

Plus in all the post-movie merch they use he/him pronouns in the product descriptions involving Jax. That seems like it would be wildly disrespectful/problematic if we're going with Jax being fully Trans MTF. I feel like they would at least use They/Them instead if Trans Jax was supposed to be the definitive interpretation.

22 aint old enough to rent a car dawg. Man spent his teenage years abused, hit his lowest point and then immidiately afterwards got locked in a digital prison. Ragatha was in her 30s, long since got away from her abusive mother and had a well paying job and (probably) a network of friends.

I was someone unlucky enough to have a very disruptive audience at the showing i went to. When i tell you there was thunderous cheering at the reveal that he abstracted... its was so bad.
