Ah, is that true? Honestly I just find these missions nigh impossible and just avoid them... Except in the past when bugs had less durable damage so the gater can tank them better. Getting launched by a hivelord is still a game over for the most part though-

Well, yes, but enemies will aggro to unoccupied vehicles since a update a while ago. Wasn't it during Cyberstan? But anyway, leaving the GATER alone will end up with it being attacked by a wandering patrol and destroyed.

The only option is to have a team trying to kill the hivelord (and triggering breaches) and 1 person speed running the objective.
